A memorial service for Gordon Cargill will be held in the McDonald Moody Auditorium on Wednesday, July 9, at 2pm. The Cargill family ask that rather than flowers, mourners make donations to the Gordon and Bettie Cargill Scholarship fund. Read more about the impact Gordon left on his LCU family.
“We can all encourage one another to be the very best we can be. I've been called to encourage people. We talk about changing lives, and I've seen great changes in many lives. Not that we're perfect, but that we try to live what we say. I think we do that here. I think the best is yet to come.

Our DC interns have been in the capital city for a month now. If you’re curious to see what life is like for an LCU DC intern, check out Honors Exercise Science major Clarice Gerbl’s blog, “Clarice in Washington.”

“If I were to list the activities that happen inside my comfort zone, 'leaving comfort zone' would not be among them. Yet that's been precisely the place I've been for the past month--outside of my happy little bubble. The longer I spend outside of it, the less fondly I look at the prospect of going back. It's funny, isn't it? I fought God so that I could stay in my comfort zone, but DC is the vehicle God is using to permanently evict me from my former home.” –Excerpt from Homeless Men, Sandwiches, & One of My Faith Struggles: Trust

Future LCU Bible major, Samantha Wheeler, encouraged teenagers at Encounter to start making a difference in their own backyard. Wheeler and her youth group at South Plains Church of Christ have raised $10,000 in the past three years selling these bracelets to buy goats for families in the Philippines.

What small differences can or have you done today?
