You see them every day on the roads of #Texas: dangerous drivers. It could be someone speeding on Interstate 35, Highway 83, Route 59 or Texas State Highway 359. It could be the person who runs a red light in Laredo. It could be the motorist driving erratically in Webb County because they are either drunk or texting – it really does not matter which, because both pose a risk to your safety.

According to #AAA, hit-and-run collisions have led to a record number of traffic deaths nationwide, and Texas is one of the deadliest states in the nation.

AAA reports a hit-and-run crash now occurs every minute on U.S. roads. Nearly 700,000 of these crashes were reported last year – and nearly two-thirds of those killed were #bicyclists or #pedestrians. Valley Central reports #Texas hit-and-run accident deaths have increased more than 30 percent in the last few years. #Lawyer #Settlement

#Seniorcitizens face certain increased #dangers on the #roadway. The normal effects of aging - such as hearing and vision loss and decreased response times - make it more difficult to safely complete routine #driving tasks.

Research has identified changes that can make vehicles and roadways #safer for use by elderly drivers. This, in turn, protects not only elderly drivers and their passengers, but all other road users, as well.

There are many ways in which a forklift can cause injuries to workers. When they do, workers have a legal right to be compensated for the financial losses they sustain as a result of such injuries. An accident may be the result of a defective forklift or equipment. It may also be the result of an employer’s negligent training or supervision of forklift use in the workplace. Many forklift injuries and fatality are the fault of a third party, who may be liable for additional damages beyond what is covered by workers' compensation.

When operators do begin to move a forklift, they must be aware of the differences between operating a forklift and driving a passenger vehicle. Forklifts have a different center of gravity than most vehicles do. The load itself also creates another center of gravity, and this can further complicate the stability of a loaded forklift.

Motorists have little chance of escaping serious injury as a result of a truck accident in Laredo. But those who pass beneath a commercial truck are most likely to be killed. The government has long recognized the risks, and as a result, they have mandated that trailers be equipped with rear underride guards, which are designed to keep a car from passing beneath the truck in the event of a rear-end collision.

According to Business Insider, fatal crashes in Texas between 2009 and 2013 were most often caused by failure to stay in the proper lane. Other common causes of fatal accidents across the nation included reckless driving, road rage, improper or erratic lane changing, police pursuit, failure to yield the right of way, failure to obey traffic signs and driving on the wrong side of the road.
