Google's trying to warn you before its May 2016 Google Mobile-Friendly update. Is your law firm website ready?
I recently wrote a piece about the impending update to the Google mobile-friendly algorithm. This algorithm update is slated to drop in May, and it may hurt your firm in mobile search results if your site isn’t mobile friendly. (If you’ve already got a mobile-friendly or responsive website, you won’t have to be concerned about this change.) …

There are so many reasons why legal blogging is great for you and your firm. Here are 5 reasons you'll want to start blogging if you haven't already.
When was the last time an advertisement actually caught (and kept) your attention? If you’re anything like me, it’s a difficult question to answer. I can’t remember the last time I sat through a television commercial without using a DVR or clicking “Skip Ad” on a YouTube video. I use ad-blocking software wherever I can. …

Google's AI leader will take over for the company's retiring search chief at the end of this month. Here's what Google's replacement choice may reveal to attorneys about the future of search.
This week, Reuters reported that Amit Singhal is retiring from his position at Google. The longtime Google search chief is leaving his post after fifteen years to pursue philanthropic interests. While Singhal has helped the company make search better than it’s ever been, what may be of interest to attorneys is who’s about to take …

There's a lot of confusion for attorneys about law firm SEO and content marketing. But here's the truth: they're not that different. This post will tell you why.
I recently stumbled upon an article entitled, “How Content Marketing and SEO Can Work Together.” Author Justin Wilson writes the following: Content has also been a great leveller [sic]. An excellent piece of content can be shared multiple times on social media and appear in a strong search engine page rank position. You don’t need …

LinkedIn Pulse may be more useful for some lawyers than others. Are you one of them? In our latest blog, we examine five things you'll want to consider before you start publishing content on LinkedIn.
It’s important to focus on the content you write on your website and blog. But, of course, there are other places beside your blog where you can publish what you have to say. One of those venues is LinkedIn Pulse. There are only so many hours in the day, and there are simply some things that are more …

Have you been told that your domain listing is going to be “cancelled,” “expired,” or “deleted"? Here are some good ways to tell whether that slip of paper you got in the mail is legitimate or total nonsense.
We’ve had several inquiries from our members recently about paper bills they received in the mail. Fortunately, our customers know to call us when they get solicited, because we help them avoid tricks, save money, and sometimes sidestep scams. I’m writing this blog post to alert our members (as well as non-members who read our …

What do social media, your law firm, and NBA superstar Stephen Curry have in common? Here's a valuable lesson in how using free social tools can improve your bottom line.
Some people are such big names that they transcend traditional social media. At least, that’s what’s happening with NBA player Stephen Curry. The Golden State Warriors basketball star has a huge Twitter following: more than 4.5 million followers, in fact. But it wasn’t always that way. While Curry had a fairly impressive number of followers …

Using pay-per-click for your law firm can be tough on your wallet and your marketing strategy. Google's latest move could make things even more complicated.
If you’ve been relying primarily on ads to carry your law firm’s marketing, you may want to reconsider. Recent reports indicate Google’s desktop search results are changing, and it’s going to mean fewer ads for lots of queries. As of last Friday, Google confirmed it’s eliminating ads on the right side of desktop search results. …

Think you could do all of your internet search activity on your mobile phone for a year? That's what this Google VP did. Here's what his experiment can reveal to attorneys.
For more than a year, Amit Singhal has been living off his mobile phone. Google’s senior vice president of search has been taking the concept of “mobile-first” to heart by conducting almost all of his internet search activity on mobile devices. In a recent article from SearchEngineLand, author Danny Sullivan interviews Singhal — who’s responsible …

I highly recommend LawLytics to any attorney who wants to grow their law firm online. It is a high-end website platform for lawyers in all kinds of firms. I was so impressed with the savvy and energetic team, that I just accepted an offer to work here as the Sr. Legal Marketing Strategist. I have my own blog on the LawLytics platform and it's so easy to use.

As a newly licensed attorney starting my own practice, I understood the vital importance of having a professional, optimized, mobile-friendly website. I spent months working with many different website designers, researching SEO, and studying Google webmaster guides, but just could not figure out how to get the website I needed. Then I found LawLytics. The first time I called LawLytics, the owner of the company Dan Jaffe got on the phone with me. Where I had felt so lost searching for web design/SEO guidance, Dan immediately understood because he had been an attorney in my shoes before. It was very obvious that Dan was highly educated on websites and SEO and he patiently explained every question I had. I decided to give LawLytics a try and it was hands down the best choice I could have made. The platform that Dan has built for websites is by far the easiest to use--way easier than Wordpress--and every bit as beautiful. The company understands what is important for SEO and what is not, and they will guide you through every step. Their customer service is phenomenal and are always there when you need them. If you are an attorney in need of a website, there is no one better or more affordable than LawLytics.

I was paying three times as much as I am now paying and the higher payment to the old web group was bringing no results causing me to look for an alternative provider. For me, knowing the owner of the company was a plus because I trust him and the people he has working on our account. The transfer was simple and took little to no effort on my part to have our page updated. Whenever we need assistance, it is prompt and efficient. The monthly payment is automatic and the opportunity to pay more for additional services, vs. what you want to do for yourself fits into my busy practice. Training opportunities are also offered and excellent.

I have used Lawlytics for a couple of years. Unlike other web companies you get to know their staff personally and they know my business and who I am. I also like that the "back end" of the website is easy to use and easy for me to update my website without a lot of time money and hassle. I have recommended LL to several other attorneys and they are very happy with the service as well. If you are starting your own firm this should be your first marketing investment!

LawLytics is easy, clear, and powerful. The format of the platform is as simple as any other software I have on my computer locally. The advice that the staff at LawLytics has given me has been invaluable and priceless to launch and grow my law firm through its website. Knowing that the staff at LawLytics are concerned and working hard to fine tune their platform to make websites visible and searchable on the Internet allows me to practice law and manage everything else going on with my law firm. LawLytics gave me the power to quickly control what my law firm showed the general public and allowed me to ensure that the ethics rules were being met. Quickly and directly controlling and editing content on the web is extremely important for attorneys who are bound to different standards of marketing. I highly recommend LawLytics to any law firm small or large that wants to have a quick convenient and well-designed control of their website.

I switched to Lawlytics because I had become fed up by the amount of money I was spending each month with a large marketing and online legal research company to have them do nothing except host my site. I liked the idea of being able to control my site myself but was terrified of the technology, of which I knew nothing. Dan Jaffe and his team walked me through putting in place what I needed to transfer my site to Lawlytics and they handled the technical, behind the scenes construction. They have always been available for and quick to respond to any questions I have ever had. The online teaching resources, regular updates and suggestions they offer are invaluable to even the non-computer savvy practitioners who want to grow their business. I am paying a small fraction of what I used to pay, yet have reached a far larger audience that ever before. To be honest, I actually do very little to take advantage of the vast array of tutorials Lawlytics makes available to me and I rarely update, supplement or add to my website but I am still in a far better place than I have ever been when leaving my marketing to any other expensive yet non-effective legal marketing company. I highly recommend Lawlytics to lawfirms of any and all size, and to attorneys of any and all degree of Internet/computer knowledge.

The team at LawLytics is great. I have had experiences with two other website providers. LawLytics provides greater support, is faster to respond, and provides a better product. The software is very easy to use, and if you can't figure something out, you usually get a response from the team within thirty minutes. Further, the site ranked on google much faster. I would highly recommend LawLytics to any attorney looking for a great website that is easy to use, and will rank fast.
