The Half Moon Bay Library, in partnership with the San Mateo County Bar Association, holds free legal clinics. Participants have a 20-minute free consultation with an attorney. Call the Half Moon Bay Library for details and to sign-up in advance to reserve your slot.

There are a limited number of slots for free consultations. However, if you are not able to reserve a time slot, please contact the Law Offices of Allister R. Liao and we will try to accommodate your needs @ (415) 857-3855.

While this event is located geographically in Half Moon Bay, it is open to each and every member of the public. I invite you to sign-up and come out to the Half Moon Bay Library and chat with me if you have any questions.

There is no pressure on your part to retain me. I am strictly there to answer any questions that you have about California personal injury law. And, the best part is it's FREE!

We will be in a private room, so confidentiality will be maintained. Anything you say to me is protected by the attorney-client privilege, and I'm obligated as an attorney to maintain that confidence.

So, please rest assured that our conversation will remain strictly confidential.

BOOT CAMP FOR ATTORNEYS

Sometimes the best way to represent your client is to go to boot camp.

Just completed a 7-day intensive training program with the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) - Building Trial Skills. Highly recommended coursework for any attorney serious about trial advocacy.

NITA uses the “learning by doing” teaching method. They teach you, show you, then you do it, and do it, and do it, and do it again. You get critiqued by practicing attorneys and judges from all over the world.

When you ask some trial attorneys, they’ll tell you that trial practice is an “Art.” Most people don’t realize that putting on a trial is like putting on a show. Drama is key to keeping the juror’s attention. Yes, attorneys advocate with words – but it’s much more than that.

Movement in the courtroom, voice inflection, demeanor, hand gestures, and sometimes just silence are techniques that can leave an impact on the trier of fact. The best teachers that capture the attention and imagination of their students use largely the same “performing” skill sets. It’s a difficult art form to master, but a beautiful one when done properly.

Dear defense counsel, I’ll see you in court.
