Attorney Teresa Messer attended the 23rd Annual State Bar of Texas Asian Pacific Interest Section (APIS) Conference this past week where she had the honor of hearing Karen Korematsu, daughter of civil rights leader Fred Korematsu (of Korematsu v. US (1944)), speak. Attorney Messer also received a plaque in recognition of her service to APIS. It has been an honor to serve on the executive board of APIS with amazing Texas bar leaders.

Yesterday afternoon, attorney Teresa Messer gave a presentation to teachers and faculty at YES Prep Fifth Ward where she discussed what schools should know about immigration and how it affects immigrant students and their families. The event was co-sponsored by My Brother's Keeper Houston and Houston Immigration Legal Services Collaborative.
