(very) early morning on the top of Meridian hotel in Puxi
The hotel roof offers a very nice view of Pudong... the organizers of the photo project decided to have us wake up at 3:30 am to catch the sunrise...
Colors change pretty quickly (but well, my post-processing, which isn't the same for every picture is also responsible for that... I post-processed these pictures quite a lot... this sin't a documentary project, so I think the feeling is what matters most). Overall it was an amazing project. I was also super happy to meet awesome photographers and shoot side by side with them, including Nick Ut (the facebookgate of the napalm picture actually happened during the project). But I also need to mention Neal Ulevich, Michael Nelson, Ringo Chiu, Olesya Kurpyaeva and of course my friend Fred Dufour.

Swing dance in Shanghai
My friend Lulu (on pictures 1 and 2) is a Shanghaiese singer and dancer. She used to live and perform in Beijing but decided to go back to her hometown. This photo trip was a great opportunity to meet her again -and take some more pictures, of course!

Street shots in shikumen and "new traditional streets"
I bet you can make the difference between the two without having me explaining which is which.

Around the Bund and Nanjing road at night
as I said, I tried to shoot at night as much as I could... But as I only had free time on the evening, I also decided to meet my (beautiful) friend Angelina. In the end, I think her picture is probably one of the nicest shots of my ten days in Shanghai, that is why I use it for the cover of this collection. I would really like to thank her, not only for this nice shot, but also for her admirable patience when i was running in different directions to photograph stuff around us while I was supposed to chat with her. Thank you Angelina! (by the way, you eventually got a rain reflection on the second picture!)

Jing An Temple
I was quite happy of the shot with the women praying... they were nicely lined up, the main subject has a nice expression, weather is nice... but well, the third picture here was the first time I went to this temple... as Fred Dufour (from AFP) and I thought it was a shame we couldn't get shots with a nicer weather, we decided to come back when things got better. The temple is like an island of religion and tradition lost in the ocean of contemporary consumerist Shanghai.

Some Shanghai street shots taken on a rainy day.
I am actually quite ok with rainy days for photography. People take their umbrellas, we get a wet ground, sometimes with reflections (ok, there aren't any reflections in this group of pics, but wait a bit, I will post some later)... Rain is so much better than boring grey days with bad light and nothing else... So even if I ruined my Nikon D750 under tropical rain once, I would always choose rain over boring grey weather.

Wedding shots
I always enjoy seeing couples getting their wedding photographs, be it on an old street or on the Bund at night.
