I'm answering Leslie's question on the blog today! Take a look:
I truly don’t remember a time when I wasn’t finding joy in design and organization. I was the artsy, type-A little girl who organized my mom’s shopping cart into neat sections, occupied myself for hours with a stack of copy paper and a box of crayons, and practiced my handwriting in my spare time. I never really grew out of it, and I followed my passion all the way to a graphic design degree from Virginia Tech a couple years ago.
Many of my peers pursued jobs at fast-paced design agencies after graduation, but the idea of designing for big businesses and corporations never interested me. Ultimately I wanted to get back to my own illustrative, colorful, feminine aesthetic that made me fall in love with design in the first place. So I started my own graphic design business, Elle & Company, and I spend my days designing brands and websites for creative entrepreneurs. I blog each weekday about life, design, and entrepreneurship, and I also have an online printable library that gives subscribers unlimited access to a collection of pretty paper goods, from art prints to resume templates and everything in between.
I’m blessed to call my life-long passion my full-time job. I absolutely love what I do!
When I'm not designing or blogging for Elle & Company, you can find me hanging out at the coffee shop, dancing in the kitchen/cooking with my husband, Jake, or exploring Charlotte, NC.
