And finally, because I rediscovered this recently & Snoops became obsessed by it, here for your delectation is the phenomenal Walking On Air from DWTS a couple of years back. Derek Hough is an astonishingly talented dancer & choreographer. Such vision & panache.

Aaaand shortly after playing at dragon riding, "Stormfly" collapsed into a family sandwich (do I ever mention how tall our kids are & how short we parents are??! It's a tough act to carry. I think that counts as today's workout!)

Just because the HTTYD 2 film was simply fantastic. The thrill of the vistas, the soaring Dragons, of Hiccup gliding... I get a tingle up my spine as much as my daughter does. I don't have much tolerance for repetition on the whole but I could watch some of those scenes over & over. My favourite film this decade so far. Seriously!

How To Train Your Dragon 2 (2014)
It's easy to forget now how the original How To Train Your Dragon did not exactly arrive surrounded by an enormous amount of hype. Dreamworks Animation were seen by many to be permanently in Pixar's shadow, so the adaptation of Cressida Cowell's children's ...

"It's a hard knock life" ORIGINAL Annie 1982: http://youtu.be/-0bOH8ABpco

Because if I have to watch this, & the new DWTS choreographed version every single night along with Harry Potter trailers 1-4, then someone else should share my pain. It is a hard knock life, after all!

I just had my first proper paycheck in 7 years. Not a company director dividend, not child benefit, but a proper grown up "Oh, look, I'm working!" payment. God, I love those guys. I wear jeans, I drink tea, I get to stretch my brain, make decisions, engage in banter... And then someone PAYS ME. Crazy! Awesome! Awesomely crazy! Cute.

I've just noticed that I'm down as a Developer at work. This pains me, since it misleadingly implies I may possess all sorts of fancy Developer-y knowledge, which, in fact, I do not. I have my own fancy knowledge. UX people are magic. At least, larger software houses invariably assume that we are, since we're usually expected to produce magic, based on nothing, out of nothing. Usually immediately. In this sense, my current company is proving very reasonable, having afforded me a good 80 hours without demanding end-to-end designs so far...

...oh, and my boss light-heartedly referred to me at Head of UX. Hah! I suppose that technically I am. Imma run with that.

In distracting my toddler away from constantly interrupting my daughter from her homework last night, I engaged him in a drawn out sword fight (he as Dogtanian). I have concluded the following: 1) at 95th centile & solidly built, he is now too heavy to comfortably jump on my ribcage. 2) It's very hard to effect a melodramatic & rather Shakespearian death whilst being beaten repeatedly in the neck & face with a Legoland sword. Ooph!

Introduction
I like slides, glitter, good books, films, delicious & healthy food (OK, & the occasional bad, bad, baaaaad thing that would leave your blood sugars crawling out of a deep pit for days), exploring awesome new places, & a challenge. I like a good challenge. That's not an invitation! Call it pointless if you like; you would, of course, be wrong :)

Fabulous food, and the staff are usually wonderful, efficient, and helpful. We love it there - great stop for early dinner with the kids after an afternoon at The Vyne.
