I recently finished the WSET level 2 and got a completely new understanding of exactly how little I know about wine! In order to develop my palate a bit more before I embark on the next stage I need to drink loads and loads o...

My Favourites at Bloom 2015
Bloom is now in its ninth year, can you believe it? It's success is no doubt down to the hard work of all the gardeners, designers, producers and crafts people who pitch in each year, not to forget the organsiers and promoters too!  This year's event was no...

The Lime Kilm, Julianstown, Co Meath.
The Lime Kiln in Julianstown could be the envy of every restaurant. Not because of the food, the creativity of the chef, the friendliness of the staff or the beautiful decor (though these things are all fantastic) but because the restaurant is absolutely de...

Taco Taco
Anthony Remedy tempted us with #BrunchofChampions and now he's torturing us with Taco Taco. In a good way! He managed to build the twitter machine up into such frenzied excitement that, even in it's first week, Taco Taco was regularly packed. I'm not sure i...

Another fine year!
I'm a bit late with this blog post as I'm suffering from withdrawal! I can't believe it's all over. Taste of Dublin is my favourite of all the summer festivals in the city. I just wanted to share some of my highlights from th...

I had a most uncomfortable dining experience recently. It had nothing to do with the food, the wine, the company, the staff or the location, as the title of this blog suggests though, I was blindfolded for the experience. I h...

East Side Tavern
East Side Tavern, one of a new breed of pubs with high-end food.  I've noticed a shift in the Dublin dining scene, it's ever so slight but the change is becoming perceptible. Food in pubs. I'm not talking about pub grub or even gastro pubs but cracking good...

5 Reasons Why Dubliners Should Visit San Sebastian.
Did you know you could be in Spain in less than two hours? San Sebastian, or Donestia as it's called in Basque, is on Spain's northern coast between Bilbao and Biarritz. Their weather is changeable like ours in Dublin but temperatures reach 20C and above in...

Honest Pizza
If good pizza is hard to come by then good pizza in Dublin City Centre is even harder! Up until recently Skinflint was the only option unless you wanted to traipse out to the suburbs. Recently though Honest to Goodness have expanded upstairs and now we have...

The Top 10 Best Charcuterie in Dublin.
I've come across a few people who when told what charcutiere was gaped at me in astonishment, they didn't realise that it was just basically a meat and cheese platter! If you've been avoiding this delicious dish or have a passion for it like I do then read ...

I went to see The Life and Sort of Death of Eric Argyle a few weeks ago. I loved it, it was fantastic! The theatre itself is really interesting too, lots of history attached to it. A lot of love has been invested into the renovations. It's a modern comfortable theatre within a charming old building. Check it out as soon as you can!
