Very excited about this new unit for my class: the stories of Pwyll and of Taliesin from the Welsh Mabinogi (Mabinogion). There are always students in the class who are interested in Arthurian legend, and there's even a class taught by a wonderful German professor on Arthurian literature (sometimes I have students in my class who have taken that class)... but I don't think they read any of the Mabinogi in that class, so it is going to be great to have something like this to offer them!

More Arthurian material coming up with the last British unit I will be adding (that will be on Thursday) - I found a prose retelling of Spenser's Faerie Queen, and the Britomart section is just the right length for a unit in my class. So, I'll have that up and running later this week.
For now, though, Taliesin! YES! And of course the story of Pwyll and Rhiannon is just great also, and these two selections put together were just the right length for one of my reading units. Indeed, the half-way mark falls right in-between Pwyll and Taliesin! Perfect!´╗┐
