I also updated my Reading Diary page to give students a step-by-step view of how I create a Reading Diary when I am reading and taking notes. To make sure I got that right, I recorded the steps as I created the Cherokee Reading Diary this morning! Of course there are all kinds of ways to do this, but I thought it would be good to share my own process. Some tricks I use that help me a lot: starting with plain text in a plain-text editor, separating the note-taking process from creating the actual blog post, and using keyboard shortcuts to create the links. I'm not sure if the students will find that useful or not, but I figure it's always good to share my process with them in case it is helpful. I am seriously efficient in the work I do online (I have to be), so if any of my efficiency tips can help the students, so much the better!
