As a lifelong +Kansas City Royals fan, it was incredibly fun to see them win the World Series this year. And while they had a crazy amount of talent, I think what really set them apart was their heart and winning culture.

Companies can learn a great deal from the Royals. If you want to succeed in business today, you have to differentiate. And creating a strong company culture is one of the best ways to do that.

On the +Blue Kite Marketing blog today, I talk about a few ways you can build a winning culture at your company.

No one talks about boring businesses. We talk about brands that are interesting, entertaining or exciting. We talk about brands with great stories.

That’s why a powerful brand story is hugely important.

But, here’s the deal - most companies do a terrible job of telling their story.

They think they don’t have a good story to tell. Or, they don’t think anyone wants to hear about their story.  Newsflash: they do.

Every brand has a story.

Yes, even yours.

You just have to uncover the right story and then learn how to tell it well.

In today's post, I give examples of three brands that share their story well - Chobani, Letterlogic and Thank You Water. I also give you some questions to help you determine YOUR brand story.

Check it out: http://flybluekite.com/marketing/power-of-telling-your-brand-story/

Creating a powerful brand story is perhaps one of the most important things you can do to market your business. Here are some ideas on how to get started.

It might be time for your company to quit Facebook. Yup. I said it.

If Facebook is no longer working for you, you either need to find a way to improve your efforts or throw in the towel.

If you need help deciding what makes sense for you, check out today's post. I give you some reasons why businesses struggle with Facebook, some tips on how to improve your efforts and then some ways to determine whether it's time to call it quits.

After all, it doesn't make sense to invest time and money into something that no longer works.

What do you think? Should businesses give up on Facebook? Should you?

If you want to grow your business, a marketing team can be incredibly beneficial. But which is better for your business - an in-house marketing team or marketing agency?

That's what I discuss in today's blog post. There's no one-size-fits-all answer. There are benefits to both options. You have to determine which approach is best for your business.

To help you decide, I've highlighted the pros and cons of both options.

Take a look:

A lot of entrepreneurs and business leaders have a tough time selling themselves. They don’t want to sound like a used car salesman who is constantly peddling the latest deal on the lot.

And, because overselling is so rampant on the social web, businesses often get gun-shy about touting their services for fear of being categorized as a spammer or arrogant jerk.

However, this creates a converse problem – underselling.

When you don’t let people know about what you’ve got to offer, opportunities can pass you by.

So, how do you promote yourself or your business the non-spammy way?

Check out today's post for ideas on how to do that:

I have known Wendy for several years - first as a friend and then as a client of mine. During that experience, I was thoroughly impressed with Wendy's business acumen and knowledge of the market. That's why I have always been quick to recommend her to friends. However, I finally got to experience Wendy's skills first-hand when my husband and I decided to sell our house. Wendy quickly jumped into action and I was impressed with how she marketed our property. Her hard work paid off - our house sold in TWO DAYS and we got the price we wanted! On top of that, Wendy's connections helped us discover a new construction property to buy that wasn't even on the market. It's a great opportunity to get in an up-and-coming neighborhood. Not only are we excited to be building a new house, we believe this will be an excellent investment for us. Wendy is a go-getter and a class act. She's well-connected, super-savvy and absolute joy to work with - I can't recommend her enough!
