A Collection of Love written by Judy Camby will be released at the Eye Scream Parlour in Swannanoa on April 22nd, starting at 11am and ending at 1pm. Judy was a life long resident of Swannanoa, who in her spare time wrote children's stories. Her first work, Mr. Book's Story was published in 2008. Judy passed in 2010 before she could publish another. But now the wait is over, A Collection of Love is finished. It holds three of Judy's children's stories, Sunshine, Gail Can Cook, and Laura and the Dr., with Ilustrations by Sumio Seo, Nancy Worley, and Stacey Abidi. In celebration of her work the Eye Scream Parlour will be housing A Collection of Love's first signing/reading. The first twenty purchases of A Collection of Love will also recieve a free ice cream! Laura will read from a Collection of Love and have other goodies for the children.

Dear readers and supporters,

The time is almost here. The Tucson Festival of Books is one of the largest book festival in America.

The two-day Tucson Festival of Books attracts more than 130,000 book-lovers. Starting Saturday and ending Sunday night, the University of Arizona is cram-packed with author pavilions, book characters, food, entertainment, and book lovers. Authors range from local Tucson residents to authors located around the world.

Thanks to my sponsors I am able to attend this weekend. I'll be leading Sunday's tent talks at 10am followed by a two hour book signing starting at 12:15. I am very excited for this opportunity and look forward to sharing my experiences with you. Be sure you've liked my Facebook page so you can follow my "Live" feed throughout the weekend. The live feeds will start this Saturday and will occur every few hours until the end of the festival on Sunday night. I will not be attending any events Saturday which gives me the chance to show you different parts of the festival. There may be a few live feeds on Friday to notify you of my experiences through the airports.

I would appreciate any prayers for the flight there and back, for God's protection throughout my stay and for a blessed turn out.

Lord willing, I'll see you Saturday.

It's that time of year again, where a lot of people make resolutions for the New Year to come. If they're anything like me, they don't keep them. But God willing, 2017 will be very different. I have found that which I want to pursue.

To quote, T.S. Eliot:
“For last year's words belong to last year's language, and next year's words await another voice."
So in this New Year, listen for mine.

Who do I do this for? My mother. She was/is the reason I try and I miss her dearly. Her love and determination have inspired me to push myself forward in not just (our) writing but in everything. I promise to push myself to the limit and further. Produce more novels, more children's stories, to make new connections, give more, volunteer, reach those who are out of reach, and most importantly; I promise to simply live. It's going to be a long journey but it's one I look forward to.

I may not make it to the big screen, or sell a million copies, but no one will be able to say I didn't try.

May your new year be full of fun, happiness, and adventure. Above all, I pray for God to bless your journey!

Happy New Year
Laura Camby McCaskill

Merry Christmas!
