While many of us have all likely experience a pretty heavy dose of Spider-Man fatigue, the character's recent appearance in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR did much to get this writer excited about his upcoming standalone film, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. So far we know that Tom Holland will be reprising the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man along with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. In addition, they will be joined by Zendaya, Tony Revolori, and of ...

We're a little over a month from seeing the terrifying return of the aliens who blew up the White House back in 1996's INDEPENDENCE DAY. Humanity has done all it can to prepare, but will it be enough? We'll have to wait to see the film to find out, but in true Empire fashion, they've managed to snag an exclusive cover for the flick. Check that out below! As you can see, the cover has Jeff Goldblum plastered on the front about to g...

While DAREDEVIL may indeed still be the big flagship Netflix title for Marvel, there is no doubt that JESSICA JONES turned some heads when it aired on the streaming service last year. While the series had plenty of action, it was definitely more of a talkie show, and its main villain more of a mental player than a physical one. There were many great relationships Jessica had with other characters last season, but the two that likely ...

Things seem to be different than what we originally thought, as Michael Keaton actually is still being considered for the role as the main villain in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. Things have been ping ponging all around behind the scenes of the deal, as at one point Keaton was going to play the villain, then it was reported that he wasn't, and now we learn that he actually is. But the deal isn't all but sealed, it's just closer to being fi...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one complex beast. Each film is supposed to stand alone, all while still contributing to the overall character and story arcs. Sure, any Joe Schmoe can watch and enjoy IRON MAN 3, but it's much more impactful if you've seen THE AVENGERS. Similarly, most anyone can enjoy the actions and events in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, but it'll mean a hell of a lot more to you if you've seen most -- if not all -- of...

TRUE DETECTIVE season one director Cary Fukunaga is in talks to direct a mini-series entitled NAPOLEON, THR reports. As cool as that bit of news is in and of itself (Fukunaga was the director responsible for the amazing first season TRUE DETECTIVE), the real news, of course, is the origin of the project. Stanley Kubrick has been hailed as one of the greatest film directors of all time, and in addition to being great, he was also q...
