We've all been there. Let's not go there again. Say goodbye to bad clients BEFORE they become bad clients. #coaches   #coaching   #femalecoach   #businesscoach   #consulting
Bad clients. We can all agree…they suck. You might have just found a $100 bill in that purse you never use, discovered the perfect shade of red, but not too red, lipstick or fit into your long-anticipated, one-size-too-small little black dress. Doesn’t change the fact that bad clients still suck. Ever gone mattress shopping? Hard, soft, spring, memory …

Confucius said: We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.
My second life began when I asked for my soul back from the Devil and left my career in the dust – the one that had become my identity – to start my own business.
I made a new pact, with myself, that my next chapter would be a lifestyle I would love living.
HOW I HIT ROCK BOTTOM BY HITTING THE TOP “You know, Lara, you’ve got to be first in and last out if you want to make it to the top. Especially if you’re a woman.” This was the prolific piece of advice I got, in my early 20s, from my suit-pants-toting, hard-hitting, never-let-’em-see-you-cry-proclaiming, sports-car-driving, 6-figure-making female mentor / boss. My mouth agape …

In this first instalment of my weekly #swiftshift Periscope video series, I share my thoughts on the 1 word synonymous with entrepreneurship that I fundamentally disagree with (and why I think it’s actually sacrificing your happiness).

Cold calling is one of those phrases that sends of a shiver of fear down people's spines :) I was one of those people. Then I learned how to do it well enough to generate $3.5MM in new business opportunities for a small, $7MM company. I dedicated this podcast to sharing what my process was (even though I was an introvert with no sales experience). Enjoy!

Love this interview with +Amanda Serfozo & +Joseph Rooks of +Lexicontent on how to write social media content that moves people.

"Stories you don't tell can't sell" (Joseph Rooks)
Some of the most common questions I get asked on a regular basis revolve around content. “How do I create great stuff to share in social media?”, “How often should I post?”, “Is there a way to connect my content to sales…without being salesy?” Great news… My guests today – Amanda Serfozo & Joseph Rooks …

An important letter to all female entrepreneurs (coaches, consultants, strategists, copywriters, graphic designers, etc)... #bossmom   #bosslady   #mompreneur   #bossbabe   #fempreneur   #femmepreneur
Many of us are sacrificing the very thing we created our business for in the first place… Our lifestyle. We have been force fed a diet of lies. We’ve been seduced into believing that success is “having it all”. Told that we must be an empire builder, a master of multitasking, a Stepford wife, conquer …

5 anti-hustle lessons I learned the hard way & how learning them helped me create a part-time-hours business that earns multi-six-figures without any marketing spend (you can apply them to your biz too!)

If you want to know the answer to questions like: what are the biggest legal mistakes most small businesses make, how do I find the right legal representation for my business, how do I choose the right business structure to properly protect myself, what do I do when people steal my images and what steps should I take to prevent my images from being stolen...you'll want to listen to this latest episode with guest and legal expert, Jo−Ná Williams.
Today we’re going to be talking with legal expert, Jo−Ná Williams on how to protect your business. Our guest founded her practice, J.A. Williams Law and The Artist Empowerment Firm back in 2011. But her desire to build her companies started a lot earlier. I’m going to have her share her story, but basically she …

A few weeks ago, I got a message from Kevin White (who's currently doing all of his ISES Live Presidential duties in N'awlins). He told me that he enjoyed the show but felt there was something missing. I'm paraphrasing...but...he suggested that I spend more time letting people know my thoughts and perspectives as opposed to just interviewing.

That comment gave me great pause.

And so I reached out to Kevin and asked him if he'd be willing to flip the script and interview me. He said, 'yes!' (quite emphatically, I might add).

My personal opinion is that Kevin has missed his calling ;) He was an incredible interviewer. He made me comfortable, asked some really great questions and got me to open up on topics - some of which made me uncomfortable.

Question: Is this something you'd like to hear again on Lara Mcculloch . Start Some Shift?
OK, so today we’re going to do something TOTALLY different. A few weeks ago, I got an email from Kevin White with a suggestion that caught me off guard. Now, if you don’t know who Kevin is, he’s the President of the International Special Events Society and for nearly two decades he’s been designing and …
