D'Angelo Russell is pretty much theirs now that they have the No. 2 overall pick this year (THANK YOU, SILVER! THERE IS JUSTICE IN THIS WORLD AFTER ALL, LOL). I say that because I'm all but certain Towns, who was my top draft target for the Lakers to get, is going to Minnesota as their No. 1. Okafor and Mudiay are alright, but not the type of players Lakers desperately need at this point. I REALLY like Winslow for obvious reasons stated in the clip, but he would've made more sense for them had they gotten in the Top 5 but just finished out of the Top 3. Of course, that DIDN'T happen so it's all good. With Russell, Lakers will have gotten themselves a player with the legit chance to turn into the next franchise player after Kobe finally calls it a career. Timing of it all couldn't have been any more perfect than what took place yesterday afternoon.
