50th Anniversary and 50% off of ticket prices!

On May 30th, 2014 Lake Shasta Caverns will be holding its 50th Anniversary Event. We have been host to over 2 ½ million visitors from around the world.

Although this is a celebration of our birthday, it is also a humble acknowledgment that we could not have done it without the support of the local communities and organizations! Celebrating with them is like the icing on the cake!

Through the past 50 years this local attraction has had the opportunity to contribute to many successful events for the community. From developing the Underground Classroom, which has educated students in the tens of thousands, to becoming an active participant in many public events. These events include but are not limited to:

• Extremely proud and active member of the National Caves Association , Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association, Shasta Lake Business Owners Associaiton , Shasta Lake Chamber of Commerce and many more.
• Launching the Lake Shasta Dinner Cruises and providing tours of the surrounding area and enjoying Shasta Lake
• Support of dozens of school booster clubs and sports
• 75th Anniversary of Shasta Dam planning and celebration
• CAST for Kids – a fishing event for physically and/or mentally challenged children and teens
• Free day fishing trips with the Forest Service and local 3rd grade classes. 2014 boasts to be its largest and hosting around 150 children
• Warriors on the Lake – The Fregoso Outdoor Foundation event celebrating and supporting the families who have had a loved one either deployed or fallen in the line of duty
• Tis the Season Food Drive with the Salvation Army where over 300 hundred pounds of fudge are made by cavern staff to hand out to contributors as simply a "thank you" for their donation.
• Outbreak at Lake Shasta CavernsHalloween event
• Forrest Service programs such as the Shasta Lake Hazard Marker program and clean up of the Golinsky Mine project

In 2012, we were designated a National Natural Landmark by the National Park Service! This being a very prominent and illustrious badge of honor as fewer than 600 sites across the United States have achieved this status. Although the plaque displays the Lake Shasta Caverns’ name, it is an inventory item for the region and meant to be shared with pride!

You are invited to celebrate a day with us and enjoying tours of the caverns at 50% of the usual admission ticket price! We are extending tours on this day and will be running tours every half an hour from 9 am to 6 pm.
