Loft Ladders & Pirate Ships... Arrrr!
The problem with pirates is that real ones are not very nice, the old ones from stories of old were even worse! But as a kid pirate stuff is cool. There are pirate costumes, pirate mini golf, pirate shaped toys and even a whole range of pirate shaped foods.
But for one lucky child his dad had the brains and skills to turn his Childs pirate based dreams of adventures on the high seas into reality. Well kind of anyway.
So let’s throw in loft ladders
into the mix a few parrots and bits of wood and we have ourselves one of the most amazing kids bedrooms you will ever see. Turn away now mums and dads because this is going to get nasty,
Welcome to the home of Steve Kuhl. He is a designer from Minnesota and he lives in this house with his family (1 boy, 1 girl, wife, dogs and maybe a fish somewhere). One day his son asked him to paint his room in a pirate theme. Steve who by all accounts had a fairly humble up bringing decided to take this a step further. So one summer when his son was at summer school he moved the builders in and turned his son’s bedroom into this!!!
While the main feature is the flying/floating pirate ship it also has a solid wooden loft ladder, rope bridges, a jail cell and to top it all off a hidden spiral slide that goes all the way to down stairs!
His son must have thought that this was the greatest room ever and he had the greatest dad in the world. And do you know what!?! I agree with him.
