Employees of Laboratory Testing Inc., along with their families and friends, enjoyed participating in the Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) Corporate Challenge Mobile Pack event on October 28, 2017 at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, PA. Volunteers from LTI and other businesses in the area packed specially formulated, nutritionally complete meals to feed malnourished children around the world. Laboratory Testing also made a donation to FMSC to help pay for the cost of meals.

FMSC is a Christian non-profit that was founded in 1987. Their Mobile Pack events are held across the USA. This was the fifth year the Corporate Challenge Mobile Pack event was held in Doylestown and it’s LTI’s fourth time participating.

All in a day’s work. LTI’s sales reps and a few of the other exhibitors at Titanium USA got together to salute the hosts of the expo, International Titanium Association, by forming ITA in a group photo. This photo was one of three prize winners in a contest held during the event. It won the photographer, Eric Baum, a trip to Titanium Europe 2018 in Seville, Spain. Congratulations Eric!

The importance of independent material testing comes to light in The New York Times article titled “Kobe Steel’s Falsified Data Is Another Blow to Japan’s Reputation”. Employees at four of the company’s factories had altered inspection certificates to falsely show that aluminum and copper products met manufacturing specifications required by customers from September 2016 to August 2017. The products were shipped to about 200 companies, including auto and aircraft manufacturers. Testing and certification by an independent test lab adds another layer of verification and assurance for the purchasers of materials. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/10/business/kobe-steel-japan.html
