Bye-bye Dell laptop.

For the past few weeks I'd been looking into the possibility of purchasing a new tablet with stylus support. I really like having my Note 4, but sometimes I just want a larger screen to get stuff done. Yet, I really didn't want to add a third device to my rotation (phone, tablet, laptop). So, Microsoft's announcement of the Surface 3 appears to be very timely. It's the size I'm looking for and it can replace my laptop, at least for the things I do on a daily basis. Add in the stylus support and it's a winner for me.

Needless to say, I've pre-ordered the Surface 3 with type cover & pen. In the next few weeks I'll be selling my laptop. This should be a win-win for me. It gives me what I was looking for without adding another device to the mix.

Seriously, not a bad idea bro. I think the surf is really fits with how you want to work with software. In having two tablets effectively, the note 4 and the surface 3, I think you are going to stumble upon a type of computing that needs more attention to how you touch and react, rather than just being notified. I also wonder how much in terms of workflow between the two devices you will develop, refine or remove.

So, maybe I should figure out how to attach a web shooter or nerf gun to my brace if I'll be wearing it for a while

+LaRosa Johnson Because waterproofing ports adds to the weight, thickness, and functionality of the device. Sure, you can have a covered port, Sony has done this for a while now, and many like Samsung has done "active" models for a while too. It doesn't matter, its work to pull the plug out to charge. The solution there is is to not have a port to charge at all and just do wireless charging, but until we all get that new IKEA furniture, that ain't happening.

As for microSD cards, sure its nice to expand the storage, but most folks don't think about it until they get some kind of notification that they don't have any more space. And even then, they want the content on the smaller card to be on the larger card, and don't want to go thru a PC in order to do that. If it ain't simple, its not happening, no matter what power users/early adopters want to do.

What's flawed about the S6 is that there are two models. The Edge model should have been the one and only. Having two models like that speaks to being driven by middle management and not by meeting the needs of mobile users who had the S4 and are out of contract and want something that's not an iPhone. There is no such thing as a premium Android, but this would at least been a differentiated one.

"Many Christian devotions resemble a person who is wolfing down a burger while driving on the freeway. However, our time with the Lord should look more like a couple who enjoy each aspect of a seven-course dinner."

While it's comforting to know that only God can change someone's heart, it can sometimes feel like a two edged sword. As a parent I want my children to be obedient & respectful, but I don't want mere moral reform. I want them to have hearts that desire to please God.

Even though I trust God, I can't help but feel helpless when I'm staring willful disobedience in the face daily. All I can do is keep modeling a Christlike life while praying 'til my knees are scuffed up.

I praise the Lord for the lessons that I'm learning as a parent, particularly that of a teenager. Even though it's emotionally painful at times, I wouldn't trade it, even on the days when I want to throw in the towel.

A tech enthused, Bible studying, music loving individual.
Introduction
There's not a whole lot to know about me. I'm a son, brother, husband, and father of three. I'm passionate about technology (specifically Android). I love to study and teach the Bible. I get to combine the two at my day job, Olive Tree Bible Software.

I'm also quite involved in the Christian Hip-Hop community where I write for sites like Sphere of Hip-Hop.

The best place to keep up with me is here or at my website, Urban Scholar.
