International Beer Day (IBD) is a celebration on the first Friday of every August founded in 2007 in Santa Cruz, California by Jesse Avshalomov. Since its inception, International Beer Day has grown from a small localized event in the western United States into a worldwide celebration spanning 207 cities, 80 countries and 6 continents. Specifically, International Beer Day has three declared purposes:
1) To gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer.
2) To celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer.
3) To unite the world under the banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations together on a single day.
Participants are encouraged to give one another the 'gift of beer' by buying each other drinks, and to express gratitude to brewers, bartenders, and other beer technicians. In the international spirit of the holiday, it is also suggested that participants step out of their domestic/locally brewed comfort zone and sample a beer from another culture.

The International Day of Friendship is a United Nations (UN) day that promotes the role that friendship plays in promoting peace in many cultures. It is observed on July 30 each year.
To mark the International Day of Friendship, the UN encourages governments, organizations, and community groups to hold events, activities and initiatives that promote solidarity, mutual understanding and reconciliation.
The International Day of Friendship is a UN observance and not a public holiday.
In 2011, the UN proclaimed the International Day of Friendship with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, and cultures can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.

John Oliver talked about the real prospect of the country electing its own version of President Trump. He’s actually more reminiscent of a Mexican Donald Trump, which I know is a weird image to conjure up, like Orthodox Hitler or jacked Gandhi. The two concepts don’t fit well together.

Violence affects Mexicans and tourists differently. Some of the most intense violence hit the states where Mexico's most popular #tourist destinations are located, leading to concerns about the health of a major Mexican industry.
Violence in many of those municipalities takes place on the peripheries away from the areas frequented by tourists.
In many cases, tourists are the ones buying those drugs, but the local insecurity - facilitated by corruption, impunity, and social conditions - has the most severe affect on residents.
"In Baja California in particular, La Paz has become fairly dangerous," said James Bosworth, founder of political-risk-analysis firm Hxagon, referring to the Baja California state capital, on the opposite side of the state from Los Cabos.
"For the average tourist going to #Mexico, who's going to go hang out in Baja California, Mexico's a great place to go, and the security situation is not going to impact the average tourist in any significant way," Bosworth told Business Insider.
