U.S. energy infrastructure developer New Fortress Energy (NFE) announced that it was awarded a long-term contract for the development, construction and operation of a terminal dedicated to the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the port of Pichilingue, Baja California Sur.
This contract was the result of offering the best proposal in the public tender carried out by the Port Authority of Baja California Sur (APIBCS), which awarded the project to NFE on July 19. The project will represent private investment of $184 million could start up in 2020.
The terminal will introduce a natural gas supply to Baja California Sur for the first time, allowing power plants to lower the energy cost by up to 30%, which will greatly benefit the hotel sector, one of the main industries of the state.
The Baja California Sur power systems are also isolated from the national power grid on the mainland, as well as the Baja California system on the northern half of the peninsula, which is interconnected with San Diego Gas and Electric Co.’s network in Southern California.

World Mosquito Day, observed annually on 20 August, is a commemoration of British doctor Sir Ronald Ross's discovery in 1897 that female mosquitoes transmit malaria between humans. Ross is responsible for the annual observance, having declared shortly after his discovery that the day should be known as World Mosquito Day in the future.
Malaria, dengue fever, zika - mosquitoes aren't just annoying when they buzz around your ear at night, they can also infect us with countless illnesses.
On World Mosquito Day, here are some of the most dangerous ones.

International Beer Day (IBD) is a celebration on the first Friday of every August founded in 2007 in Santa Cruz, California by Jesse Avshalomov. Since its inception, International Beer Day has grown from a small localized event in the western United States into a worldwide celebration spanning 207 cities, 80 countries and 6 continents. Specifically, International Beer Day has three declared purposes:
1) To gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer.
2) To celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer.
3) To unite the world under the banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations together on a single day.
Participants are encouraged to give one another the 'gift of beer' by buying each other drinks, and to express gratitude to brewers, bartenders, and other beer technicians. In the international spirit of the holiday, it is also suggested that participants step out of their domestic/locally brewed comfort zone and sample a beer from another culture.

The International Day of Friendship is a United Nations (UN) day that promotes the role that friendship plays in promoting peace in many cultures. It is observed on July 30 each year.
To mark the International Day of Friendship, the UN encourages governments, organizations, and community groups to hold events, activities and initiatives that promote solidarity, mutual understanding and reconciliation.
The International Day of Friendship is a UN observance and not a public holiday.
In 2011, the UN proclaimed the International Day of Friendship with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, and cultures can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.

John Oliver talked about the real prospect of the country electing its own version of President Trump. He’s actually more reminiscent of a Mexican Donald Trump, which I know is a weird image to conjure up, like Orthodox Hitler or jacked Gandhi. The two concepts don’t fit well together.
