Introduction
LA CARMINA is a travel, fashion & culture TV host, production arranger and coolhunter, journalist (AOL Huffington Post, Business Insider, CNN Travel, Sunday Times UK), and author of 3 books -- including Cute Yummy Time (Penguin) and Crazy, Wacky Theme Restaurants: Tokyo (Random House). She’s well-known for her fashion, travel & subcultures blog, and coverage of bizarre body modifications, especially Japanese bagel heads.

Her popular LaCarmina blog on alt travel, spooky fashion and Japan subcultures has been featured in major media (New Yorker, Time, Washington Post, WWD). 

La Carmina & The Pirates, her coolhunting firm, provides trend consulting, translation and TV fixing chiefly in Tokyo. She is a graduate of Columbia University and Yale Law School.
