I miss the days when cool stuff was being added here. We got Collections which was a fix to the fact that nobody posted anything publicly, we were using topical Circles for the job but that's just still just a late fix rather than a new feature.

We're excited to keep making Google+ an even better place for people to engage around their shared interests, with the content and people who inspire them.  At the same time, we'll be making some changes across Google so people who don't use Google+ don't need a public profile to use other Google products.  You can read more on the Google Blog here: http://goo.gl/08a5cF

I quit using topical circles when google+ started dumping all post from all circles into whichever circle I was viewing. I've reluctantly began using All, but I'm missing posts by over half the people in my circles. The place has gone to shit, technically.

+Mathew Ingram Mentioned the old phone location "creepiness" furor and it reminded me of something. Your cell provider at least and probably others, always had your cellular phone location triangulated from the towers. It's only with the advent of smartphones that we get to use that location data for our own purposes.

How much of our techno panic over +Google Glass, smart watches, and even Google generally are actually about our sudden awareness of existing data streams? Even the "right to be forgotten" tends to come back to this sudden awareness rather than any actual new principles.

Android launchers come in two flavors of seems - the regular launcher + themes or batshit crazy unusable.

I'm using Aviate now but development has all but stopped since the Yahoo acquisition. Any suggestions that don't fall into the above categories?

Z Launcher is the one by Nokia. Not sure if Microsoft bought that too.

You might also try some alternative launcher overlays like SwipePad, Hangar, Switchr, Lazy Swipe, or App Swap

Hey invisible hand! Get on this!

+Whole Foods Market  douchey CEO takes no responsibility for overcharging customers, and instead blames the employees who are making a tiny fraction of his salary. Never mind the fact that this isn't the first time they've been caught overcharging their customers.

Oh, and there's this:

That piece came out 6 years ago. That product was still on their shelves 3 years ago (the last time I walked into one of their stores). Someone will have to let me know if it's still there.

He's a libertarian, so I think you should share this so that the free market can do its thing.

Streaming music services negotiate a contract with the labels. They pay the labels.

The artist negotiates a contract with the label. The label licenses their music to the streaming services and keeps all the money.

How is this a conflict between artists and streaming services instead of between the artists and the labels? Everybody is paying for the music one way or another except the labels.

Taylor Swift is pretty two-faced about "poor, starving artists". She thinks that artists who make music should be compensated for their work. However, editorial photographers who are sent on assignment by editors are required by her to sign over all rights to any photos they take before the session starts. She then has the right to use these photos any way she sees fit whereas the photographer no longer has the right to use or sell his own work. ‹headdesk›

I've always gotten what I've ordered but for some reason this location is always ridiculously slow. A single combo meal has taken as long as 15 minutes to get delivered to the drive-through window. I live nearby and I'm not in a hurry when I go through so it's only a nuisance but it's totally baffling that no matter what time of day you show up, they're understaffed or understocked or something which requires 10 minutes to fix.

We had a house salad and a roll your own combo pizza. The salad was huge and amazing. The crust is a super thin cracker with just the right amount of sauce which is itself not stellar but is a great complement to any toppings you please. The server took extra care that my two year old son was taken care of with refills for his water and extra plates for each course. We'll be back regularly.
