Anticipatory Web Design & UX
Anticipatory design is a term coined by the CEO of the Huge creative design agency, Aaron Shapiro, that connotes an elimination of the decision fatigue as the next ideal to be reached in web and product design. One example he cites, in his manifesto on the subject, is an application that automatically books a flight for you when a meeting that requires air travel is schedule on your calendar. While...

Find and create a list of all the urls of a particular website You might need to do this if you’re moving to a new permalink structure and need to 301 redirect the pages. For large sites, a lot of time can be saved by making good use of free sitemap generators online and excel. A bunch of the online sitemap generator tools either ask for your email or have...

Widespread implementation of responsive web design (RWD) is relatively new in the design world, and though it’s gaining steam, the perfect method of implementation has yet to make itself known. Often designers are on their own in their efforts to figure out how to gracefully degrade the fancy features in their client’s websites, while still prominently featuring the most important content. Nobody said it’d be easy, but the front-end UI...

Anyone testing stuff like this on client website builds or mobile projects?
A description of purpose, implementation, and utility of micro interactions as well as a gallery of good looking examples. “Big” is, and has always been, made up of lots of small. Just as a multitude of sand makes up a beach, dozens of contact points between user and UI make up a pleasant user experience. The idea is to get users concentrating so hard on the forest (your product) that...

Information is a commodity. Corporations are passing around consumer behavioral profiles like brokers with stocks, and the vast majority of the American public is none the wiser of this market's scope. Very few people actually check the permissions portion of the Google Play store page before ...

Retro is trending nowadays; you see it everywhere in web design, posters, flyers, logos and of course Badges. So today we are also going retro and creating an interesting retro badge in Photoshop. Before we start designing let’s see what we need to get this done. Resources: Minimal patterns: http://www.graphicsoulz.com/premium-item/free-minimal-pattern-set-vol3/ Final result: Step 1: Open Photoshop and create a new file, set the width to 1000px a...

An enterprise-level client was looking for an Austin-based firm that could assist with mobile strategy and development. Despite knowing the guys at Enola, I spoke with several app dev firms around town (hey, it's my client, my name on the line) and Enola was the only provider who was capable of handling what our client needed, end-to-end. More than anything, I was extremely impressed with getting zero calls about that project and development channel, which is beyond the scope of what my agency handles. Moving forward, any client that needs an app development company who has experience handling enterprise-level work will be referred to Enola Labs, period.

Elena Howard did an awesome job helping me find the perfect condo. Love everything about it from the aesthetic to the community. End-to-end an all around awesome experience. I was a bit nervous about buying my 1st home, but Elena helped me through the process and everything went flawlessly. Cannot recommend enough.

Second move with Einstein was excellent, just like the last. They were able to start early, worked quickly while still being very careful with my stuff, and got the job done quickly and affordable. Easily the best moving company I've ever hired and would recommend them to my grandparents, if they lived in Dallas. They're quick, affordable movers with straight-forward pricing, devoid of hidden fees, and I completely trust them with my stuff. Hard to beat.

Needed an inspection and oil change. Pointed out low tread on my tires and gave me a much better deal than the dealership had quoted me. Honest, fairly priced, and I was out quickly. Great neighborhood service station.

Elena was my real estate agent on my 1st condo and I didn't really have to do much. Smooth as glass. There was a period where my developer was slacking on response times and she got that taken care of *real quick*. What else can you ask for? Out of all the people I interviewed, she's easily the best real estate agent in Austin.

Took a SUP yoga class with Anna at Eastlake. The vibe and class were great and better than the ones I've taken in Austin. Seeing the sunset over Gasworks Park after class was a unique experience as well. Definitely will be doing again the next time I'm in the area.

Go to this place frequently. I usually call in my order, but the counter service isn't too long. Catcus and egg tacos are great, as are chicken, catcus, and pico w/the green salsa. In my top 5 taco Austin taco places for sure.
