Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to change my Google+ Custom URL. When the feature was announced, I was very excited to get a URL and randomly added a suffix to the end of my URL, in my case: /+KylePolanskyPlus For almost every single other online account I own (besides a single game account, and my corporate work login), my username is KylePolansky. I really want the Google+ URL to /+KylePolansky I even use KylePolansky for other Google services, such as YouTube. The edit field on my Profile will only let me change capitalization. I have sent my request in using the feedback tool, and I have no heard anything back in a few weeks.

Does anyone know how I can change my CustomURL? Will deleting the Google+ service from my account and adding it back let me change it? Can I create a new Google+ account and migrate it to my current Google+ account to get a new URL? Most of my Google+ Activity is private, so it won't be the end of the world if I'm forced to start over, although I would really appreciate if I could keep my current account intact.

Sorry to sound so desperate, but I really want my Google+ URL to be consistent with my other online accounts. I'm typically an early adopter of new Google services and hardware, but have never had an issue this major before, even with canary builds of other software. Many others in my Google+ circles have custom URLs simply as their name, including my father. Thanks for any help on this problem.

Thanks +Kaleh Kohler. I have already sent feedback, and have not heard anything back. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future, but I doubt it. I'll probably be stuck with my current custom URL forever.

Well, managed to fry a power supply. Had to modify the case of an old one, extend one of the connectors, and connect 2 extra sata power connectors. At least my room doesn't smell like ozone anymore.

This is a pretty interesting article. What do you guys think? Are the younger Americans slower than the older ones?

+Chris Narbone  and +Steven O'Nan, you both made excellent statements.
I think the writer is looking at this in a strange way.  This generation may not be as "competitive" in the traditional sense, but almost every race event has grown in size and scope over the past few years, not because of a population boom, but because of an increase in people's awareness that we need to take care of ourselves, and that these things can be enjoyable, and the realization that you CAN do it.
Competition is being redefined, like so many other things in society today.

The benefits of having a rooted phone

+CyanogenMod + Chromecast

Chromecast all the things? That's actually possible.

I added some framework extensions to +CyanogenMod to let any app which plays audio/video using the MediaPlayer to be sent to the Chromecast.

This supports both local content (stuff on the SD Card) and remote content (podcasts).

Very poor service at this location. Decided to pick up a laptop and took about 20 minutes for someone to help us (after we told them we wanted to purchase the device, which was after spending about 30 minutes in the department without help). I'll also note that many of the QR codes on the tags didn't work. The display model was the last at the store, so when the employee finally showed up, he set off the alarm on the device, and then told me that Greek Squad had to install an OEM image before the laptop could leave the store. The Greek Squad desk was very busy, and the wait was anywhere between hours to days. So after a very long wait, and paying for the device, I have to wait longer even though I'm going to perform a clean install when I get the device anyways. Update: So it has been a couple of days, and no call from Best Buy. I called them and asked why it was taking so long. They said that the GeedSquad was done with the device, and was ready to pick up. However, they had never previously called to tell me about this. So after picking up the laptop and poking around, it appears that GeekSquad did hardly anything to the device. All they did was erase the account I created in the store, and made a new account called Owner (which isn't my preferred account name). They did not perform a clean install, and all previously installed programs and settings were the same as in-store. Someone could have easily installed a virus in store, and it would have still been there when I finally got the product in my hands. The service is absolutely terrible here.
