"Forward-thinking hospitals are realizing that good design that improve patients' mood can actually help people get well faster."
These health care facilities look more like Google's campus than the drab, depressing spaces most of us experience when we're sick.

Exciting news as Silicon Valley and the field of medicine cross more paths
(Updated) Here's a clear sign of the ascending role of digital/precision/personalized medicine: a prominent cardiologist has left a top academic and clinical position in Boston to run a large, innovative study in Silicon Valley. Jessica Mega was widely perceived as a rising star at Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women's Hospital. [...]

Introducing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic

Our happiest Google+ users are those who connect with others around shared interests and passions. So we set out to give people a place to express the things they love. Today, we’re announcing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic.

Every collection is a focused set of posts on a particular topic, providing an easy way for you to organize all the things you’re into. Each collection can be shared publicly, privately, or with a custom set of people. Once you create your first collection, your profile will display a new tab where other people can find and follow your collections.

Posts in collections you follow will appear in your Home stream, with a link to easily jump right into the collection so you can get to similar content from that author. Collections give you a great way to find more of the stuff you love from the people you follow.

Collections is available on Android and the web, and iOS is coming later. For Android users, make sure to update your Google+ app to get access to Collections.

For inspiration on interesting topics, check out our Featured Collections page here: g.co/collections

Create your collections today and share what you love.

I wish more compaies, especially in healthcare, had this perspective.

"If you feed [employees] the very best, you’ll get the biggest return. If you can’t afford to give them the greatest working environment, or robust salary, or benefits, the very least you can do is feed them well on a daily basis. And that goes miles."

Interesting concept
Some of the most expensive patients — so-called super utilizers of hospital care — rack up costs for avoidable reasons. A patchwork of experiments across the country are trying to better manage these cases.

I'm really disappointed that +CVS/pharmacy has disabled NFC payments via +Google Wallet.

+Walgreens is closer to my house, so it won't be a hard switch.

Awesome news from +Google Voice today!

Expanding carrier support for Google Voice MMS

When your sister texts you a picture of your newborn niece, it’s really important that you get it. For too long, however, Google Voice users would miss these messages for lack of MMS support.

We’ve been working with nearly 100 different North American carriers to enable this feature — including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Bell Canada, Rogers, Telus, and many more — and starting today all these integrations are live. So enjoy those incoming pics, say goodbye to fomo (fear of missing out), and stay tuned for more Google Voice messaging improvements!

p.s. If you’re a carrier, and you want to enable MMS support for Google Voice, please let us know. We’re big fans of text messaging interoperability.

They have a great Pad Thai and quick service. I didn't dine in, but the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere.

Fantastic coffee. I haven't been to their shop, but I've ordered multiple different roasts and have been very satisfied with them all.

Our family enjoyed dinner in one of the private rooms down stairs. The steaks were good as was the atmosphere.

This is a great place for pictures. We took family photographs here and had some great results. The wine is good, also!
