My knowledge of Japanese concentration camps comes mostly from the book "Farewell to Manzanar" which I read back in middle school. These are the first pictures I've seen.

Internment was aggressive on the US west coast where a few of my relatives were forced to relocate. While camps were built in Hawaii as well, only a small fraction of the Japanese community in Hawaii were interned. In hindsight it seems strange that so few Japanese in Hawaii were interned since the Japanese population in Hawaii was large and Hawaii played a strategic role in the war.
