Any bright ideas for saving Windows programs license keys on a machine that is thoroughly infected with Cryptolocker? I do have a RecoverKeys program, but it needs a Windows environment to run.

Basic suggestions for increasing battery life on Android devices... Amplify and Greenify are awesome. Anyone have any other secrets?
If you own any Android-OS devices, odds are that you wish they had better battery life. Although smartphone-sized processors, RAM, and internal storage have all seen significant advances over the last few years, batteries have been left behind. To make…

How did you all start out in the industry? I've recently completed a shotgun coding course, but otherwise I've only been doing freelance IT work for small business and residential clients for nearly ten years... Sadly, most hiring employers don't see freelance work as real experience, so I just can't land a job.

Any ideas? I'm wondering if I should get some certifications, but certain ones seem like a real insult to my intelligence.

In terms of education, I have a BA in Biology, and a minor in German language/translation. I've spent a whole month abroad in an immersion exchange, and even though I've always been doing freelance IT work, I have four years of EMT experience and nearly two years of Microbiology/QA lab experience.

The next round of my shotgun coding class starts in January and we'll be focusing on .NET, which is in high demand in my area... But until then I was hoping to do IT work on a more professional level.

Thanks ahead of time for reading my post and for any advice you can provide.

Check out my linked post, curious to see if anyone has any other opinions or suggestions/comments. Cheers!
Should I pay for a subscription antivirus service? What antivirus is best for a typical user? Windows, and PCs in general, have evolved quite a bit in the last decade or so. Viruses, although more pervasive than ever, are actually easier to avoid so long…
