I always suspected that Peter Parker was 'that guy' that peers over urinal dividers, and now I have the proof...

Chris Hadfield: What I learned from going blind in space | TED
There's an astronaut saying: In space, "there is no problem so bad that you can't make it worse." So how do you deal with the complexity, the sheer pressure, of dealing with dangerous and scary situations? Retired colonel Chris Hadfield paints a vivid portrait of how to be prepared for the worst in space (and life) -- and it starts with walking into a spider's web. Watch for a special space-y performance.

TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Look for talks on Technology, Entertainment and Design -- plus science, business, global issues, the arts and much more.

In a nutshell here is the problem with society...

If someone says something astonishingly stupid, and you point out their stupidity, then you are mean.

And if you tell them they are really brave for being so astonishingly stupid and voicing their idiocy, then you are nice.

We are taught (via Bambi, and other less hand-drawn sources) that if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all.

Result: The only voices we hear are the IDIOTS.

+NIA Ops -- Pardon me if this has been suggested before (I'm new) -- We have some parks here in town with portals about every 100 meters, maybe even less in places.   It seems too dense.   Too easy for a small group to manipulate.

Is there a minimum distance? If not, perhaps there should be a minimum distance between any two portals?

And any area (park or plaza) with a high portal density also becomes a battleground should both factions be active in the area.

I'm also starting to work with the local ENL to use one of these high density areas for a cross-faction new agent training event.

+ 1 this if you joined G+ before it was all cat pics and movie clips... back when there was intelligent discussion, and not just pseudo-fame-bloggers hogging all the stream.

Tragic fate G+ is suffering.
