The Eighties-style rockin' continues, as I re-live the first live concert I ever attended (what was it, 1982? 1983?). Tonight we're here to see Duran Duran . . . the original lineup, almost, except for Andy Taylor. Here we go!

I'm hesitant to contribute to "9/11 fatigue", but this is perhaps the most intriguing perspective I've come across over the past few weeks. It's a shock to contemplate how quickly the "social media" have become all but ubiquitous in our lives (like 'em or hate 'em), but it's also fascinating to imagine how different (or not) the immediate aftermath might have been had the attacks taken place several years later. Amazing stuff . . .

Today's morning commute sunrise-o-rama is a two-fer, basically because I couldn't get a shot I was really happy with. It was a spectacular sunrise -- dramatic rays spreading upward behind the scattered pinky-blue clouds -- but I suppose the phone camera just wasn't up to the task. Enjoy!

For your viewing pleasure . . . today's sunrise! It looked more spectacular in person, what with the distant rain visible through the sunbeams, but not a bad shot.

This was my view of the sunrise on the way to work this morning, and all things considered I think the shot came out pretty well (taking a picture one-handed, with my phone, out the driver-side window). :)
