While browsing around for a waterfall quote I found this and it made me smile. :)

"Then something Tookish woke up inside him, and he wished to go and see the great mountains, and hear the pine-trees and the waterfalls, and explore the caves, and wear a sword instead of a walking-stick."
~J.R.R. Tolkien

I had to turn around at this point on the trail due to fading light but I'm definitely intrigued by what lies beyond that second waterfall. It waits for another trip. :)

This is a stunning scenery. Nice capture.
beautiful work, beautiful waterfall.....hope you are pleased with your photo,it is my evening eye candy. :)
This is absolutely beautiful +Kurt Harvey and the words, too. Everything make me smile, thank you :)))))
Adore Tolkien and love your photo +Kurt Harvey! You've taken my imagination up the stream, so to speak, to envision what magical land awaits your future discovery. :-)
Very cool, love the double falls!
Don't know what's beyond the second waterfall, but this one looks beautiful !! :) Love the colors and the framing. And I have to say, your color work is just as great as your B&W +Kurt Harvey!

PS. can't help but imagine you with a sword in your hand while taking this photo. Oh well, you shouldn't have provided me the spark, my imagination doesn't need much to get going :))
+Kurt Harvey you have made me smell the mountain air and hear all the sounds a around me as well the peacefulness!
+oily beachgrl Thank you! I'm overdue for a re-read of the whole series. I'm hoping to at least re-read the Hobbit before the movie comes. Not sure I'm going to make it at this point.

Thank you so much +Julia Anna Gospodarou. I really appreciate that. :) I'm often torn between B&W and color. I love your comment about the sword. There just might be a sword in some future shots. :D

+Luxe Langmade That's what its all about for me so that you enjoyed this image that much means a lot to me. These are sacred places so thank you. :)

Thnx again everyone! Lots of great comments that I enjoyed very much. :)
Nicely done, Kurt! What a great looking place!
Thank you +Randall Sanger and +Paul Turkowski! Yes, this is a great trail to hike. Its about 8,500-9,000 feet or so at this point which makes for a good deep breathing when you're coming from sea level. :D
Thank you very much +Andrew Sanigorski. This canyon is a treasure trove of beautiful spots. A very enjoyable hike.
Places like this just don't exist in Oz so it's a pleasure when you see them and captured so well like you have +Kurt Harvey
And I'll definitely take you up on that +Kurt Harvey - local knowledge is far more relevant than guidebooks. Plus you truly make it inspiring to see.
I'm always happy to make a trip over to that area. Its a very good place to recharge the batteries.
