Revolution through 1 Tau. (= 2 Pi).

I think if you look at this animation and think about it long enough, you'll understand:

Why circles and right-angle triangles and angles are all related
Why sine is opposite over hypotenuse and so on
Why cosine is simply sine but offset by pi/2 radians

Except it's analytical crap. An agreement not to steal each other's sales execs (borne out of problems with them doing just that) is not the same as depressing engineer salaries.

Meta-trends and Mind Palaces
Society has become future oriented. Half a century ago, the future was something that belonged primarily to the domain of a handful of technically oriented writers and thinkers - Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, Philip K. Dick - and a staple of world fairs, but wh...

Also, I dislike the comment system on LinkedIn because it's weird. +David Brin is a good follow on G+.

From XQuery to JavaScript - MarkLogic's Bold Platform Play
San Francisco Airport would seem an odd place to change the world, though no doubt it's been the hub of any number of game changers over the years, but the MarkLogic World conference in San Francisco, held at the Waterfront Marriott just south of the iconic...

This is significant news. The Getty ontologies have the potential to standardized media ontologies, which are currently all over the place. Personally, I'd love to get Getty, Tribune Media, IMDB, several of the big media companies and others to get together and start developing a standardized industry ontology for RDF and XML, something along the lines of the Ultraviolet initiative. Standardization of media metadata would cause an explosion in the number of applications that could be built and the degree to which data could be shared globally without transformation impedence layers.
