"The Moments Between," Lake Champlain, Vermont
So this happened the other night on Lake Champlain…
The title has somewhat of a double meaning. First, it references the little gap in the clouds that allowed the setting sun to momentarily burst onto the scene, bathing it in the most incredible glow and backlighting the breaking waves.
The second, somewhat more abstract meaning refers to the moments between photo excursions, when I'm home in Vermont. You see I had just returned from back to back workshops and hadn't even done my laundry yet when a quick glimpse at the weather and satellite imagery had me running out the door to one of my favorite spots on Lake Champlain. This my friends is what being a landscape photographer is all about, being out in the elements photographing as often as you can, regardless of whether you're in some far flung, exotic locale or in your own neighborhood.
To all my workshop clients this fall, thank you, you're awesome people! But, don't put your camera down now that you're home and never stop shooting! If the only time you ever shoot is on photo tours or workshops then it's unlikely you'll become the photographer you want to become. This isn't a part time avocation, you gotta be all in! Now get out there and make some images!!!!!www.kurtbudliger.comwww.greenmtnphotoworkshops.com #landscapephotography #photography #vermont #photoworkshops #lakechamplain
