I live in Kraków and my family is very opened to new ideas, so I don't feel it. But I know that all people I know who are slightly different, do feel it.
When I was working in a center of a huge condominium organizing leisure activities for children, many parents asekd me or even made suggestions to fix a problem with A COLOUR OF MY SKIN. It was too pale in their opinion. On the other hand those people were coming to concerts of gypsy music (I mean Gypsy people of the district were playing their traditional music).
I think that most of Polish lost the orientation and they don't know how to develop to avoid major western problems and fix ours. 90's in Poland was a huge culture shock. So now you can have the same person behaving nice, helpful, hospitable, active in public life, or closed, suspicious, hostile, or even racist or sexist. In western terms some our traditions are sexist, but we mean it well and the person who keeps those traditions isn't sexist in many situations.
