Look at what I (+Kristine Belknap) got in the mail! My long awaited diplomas finally arrived! It’s official; I (+Kristine Belknap) am now an alumnus of Cal State LA! I plan on participating in the commencement ceremony in June and while I’ve technically graduated, I’m still going to be around campus in the meantime. I’m going to continue helping out at the Mad Scientist Lab with the 3D printer and also try to stay active in the student chapters of SWE, SHESS (+SHESS CSULA), BMES, and ACM (+CSULA ACM) for the next and final quarter at Cal State LA (+Cal State L.A.).

This past Friday and Saturday I attended the 2015 HENAAC Conference. While not my first time going to a conference, this was my first time going to one this big. The seminars I went to were both informative and interesting with great advice and excellent presenters. On Friday evening I attended the awards show which was emceed by Mario Lopez. The dress code for the evening was black-tie, which meant formal dresses for the ladies. On Saturday, the main event for the day was the Career Fair. I had a great time visiting the different booths and can hardly wait to hear back from the companies that I had interviews with. ‪#‎HENAAC27‬

I (+Kristine Belknap) had a great time at this year's #R2LDC. The speakers were inspiring, the workshops were informative, the banquet was great, and the after party was fun.

After our tour group from #R2LDC finished checking in and getting our guest badges, we headed for the first stop on our tour of JPL.
When we arrived at the place, my first thought was wondering why we were going to a rocky patch of desert, but then I spotted the rovers. We had arrived at the Mars Yard, an outdoor test area that imitates martian terrain for full scale testing of prototype rovers. They had a full scale working replica of Curiosity and a test rover named Scarecrow.
The next stop on the tour was the visitor box looking into one of the clean-rooms. We happened to be there while there were people working something for an upcoming launch. The people in the clean-room were doing something under the Low Density Supersonic Decelerater, which according to one of the awesome guides will be launched in June.
The last stop was the visitor center of the Space Flight Operations Facility. Because of all of the data that goes through this facility, the Space Flight Operations Facility has been called the center of the universe.
It is sometimes said that all roads lead to the gift-shop, but it was apparently closed today.
