Yes, based on experience.
A few years back, a friend of mine experienced a classic foot-in-mouth moment. “Congratulations!” she said to a coworker, who dryly replied, “I’m not pregnant.” An embarrassment like that makes you want to crawl under a rock and never show your face again. Tempting, but it’s probably healthier to recover from that moment.

Gulp.
I once showed up to a party alone, before any of my friends arrived. Instead of mingling, I hid in the bathroom to kill time and avoid talking to strangers. Embarrassing, but true. For a shy person, social interaction can be a stomach-churning, anxiety-filled experience. It was for me. But with some work, I was able to get it under control and become comfortable with talking to people.

To see the lengths some will go to to stay in the dark about something, check out these comments. Amusing, but sad: http://twocents.lifehacker.com/the-jobs-with-the-biggest-pay-gaps-for-women-1688125613
The gender pay gap has been getting a lot attention. It's an issue needs to be addressed proactively, but it can be useful to know the industries where this gap is widest. Here are the worst paying jobs for women, based on median earnings.

Most of us have been there.
Years ago, a friend introduced me to someone who asked what I did for a living. “I work on an online video series,” I said. It was hard work, it required lots of planning, researching and interviewing, and it was how I paid the bills. My friend chimed in, “She’s a vlogger,” then giggled. I didn’t quite understand what she meant, but I felt diminished.

I'm a big fan of a tasty little beverage called COFFEE. So I put Mistobox to the test for ThriveWire.
Kristin Wong ordered some coffee from MistoBox to see if it's worth the price.

Inspired by a "quick" 45-minute trip to the CVS down the street.
Moving to a big city for the first time can be daunting, especially if you come from a small town. You may be prepared for the obvious differences, like traffic or cost of living. But other quirks don't sink in until you actually live in the city for a while. Here's what you should know.

Because you gotta earn a living.
Thanks to online talent platforms like Fiverr, it's now easier than ever to outsource work. For less than twenty bucks, you can find a writer, designer or editor. It's convenient if you're hiring, but it's frustrating for workers who earn their living this way. Here's how you can compete with sites that offer cheap work.
