I'm currently running a game of Shadow of the demon Lord using spaces. It's really nice to be able to drop pics and links in conversation. I only wish editing a post was an option.

Google Save Saves the Day!
I just discovered that Google Save solved a longstanding problem I've had with Chrome profiles and bookmarks. My bookmarks in profiles other than my primary account can't sync to Chrome for Android (a limitation of the browser). This is frustrating in meetings when I'm want to pull up something I bookmarked on my phone, but I saved it to my work profile.

With Google Save, I can switch accounts associated with my profiles while using Chrome for Android. Thus, I am going to test using Google Save for bookmarks instead of Chrome's built-in bookmarks feature.

The one limitation I see is an easy way to add things to Google Save while on Android; we need an app for that.

OK, Discord looks pretty awesome. Apparently, if you like Slack, you'll love using this for voice chat while playing online games.
Discord is a newcomer to the chat scene, but it’s made a big splash. The app provides voice and text chat for groups, with an emphasis on gaming. However, it’s so sweet I’ve already started using it for everyday chat.

Looks like the Hangouts extension for Chrome is finally getting updated to match the app. A good thing since Chrome apps are going away. Remember when they were trying to push us off of the extension and onto the app?

For the record, I'm not a fan of Chrome apps going away. This is the same type of bad decision-making Sundar Pichai did with respect to trying to kill Google Drive before it launched, believing that we could all just create files with cloud apps and a Chromebook [http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2011/05/how-google-docs-killed-gdrive.html].

I use Chrome apps because of their size and design. Pocket, Hangouts, Keep... They all just work better as windowed apps than as full browser views. Not to mention that killing Chrome apps means I lose the Chrome Remote Desktop app, which I use quite a bit to connect to my home computer while at work.

This feels like Google Reader all over again.

Excellent tips for more efficient front-end code. Ever since I adopted Bourbon, Neat, and flexbox over Bootstrap, I've realized we have been trained to over-engineer our web. CSS and good clean semantic HTML5 markup alone give us most of what we really need to build lightweight, sustainable front-end code for our websites. We are no longer dependent on bloated frameworks.
I'm not the most talented coder in the world. No, it's true. So I try to write as little code as possible. The less I write, the less there is to break, justify, or maintain. I'm also lazy, so it's all gravy. (ed: maybe run with a food analogy?) But it turns out the only surefire way to make ...

Google’s recently-launched video calling app Duo will soon support audio-only calls, according to a Google employee. Google first announced Allo and Duo way back in May of this year. Allo is Google’s new messaging app that’s not yet available, and Duo is Google’s attempt to take on Apple’s FaceTime. It’s essentially a one-to-one video calling app that supports high quality video and audio. Unlike FaceTime, however, Duo is available for both An...

+Matt Widmann it does, but with a more cumbersome approach. Duo is 1-to-1. You press the button, pick a contact, and done. Hangouts requires a lot more steps. It mixes IM, video, and voice with both groups and individuals; you have to creat a conversation, pick the participants, start the conversation, then initiate the call.
