Ad campaign to promote Facebook Live in the UK and the US starts Sunday - but is it irresponsible?

Recently on the Live Stream Insiders we talked about the multi channel ad campaign that was being planned to promote Facebook Live.

Today Social Times shows some videos and images to give a sense of the promotions.

If the public was not aware of Facebook Live they will be very soon as it included television ads and out-of-home spots such as billboards and bus wraps. Digital spots, both on and off Facebook, will also be used.

Facebook said in an email to SocialTimes that the number of users livestreaming via Facebook Live at any given minute has grown fourfold since May, adding that Facebook Live has now been used on all seven continents and in outer space

Facebook chief marketing officer Gary Briggs comments: We designed our campaign to reflect the authenticity of Facebook Live. All of the content for the campaign- every video, every image - was shot using Facebook Live on a phone. Many of the videos you’ll see in our TV spots are from real people around the world, and none of the dialogue was scripted. The ads highlight all kinds of moments captured on Facebook Live: the everyday, the exciting, and the quirky.

All well and good, but there does not seem to be any reference to issues such as making sure you have permission to film someone and not including copyright materials in the live stream such as music.

I know you are thinking I am a bit of a Scrooge - but there is a disaster or two waiting to happen here without due education! So sayeth the mother of teens!
