In the wake of these accidents, should the standards be higher? Chime in below.

It's not only a safety issue, it is also a discriminatory issue. Besides, studies and surveys have shown that upwards of 18+% of CURRENT drivers, of any age, could not pass a drivers test if given to them today. Stop and think how many traffic laws, signs, road markings, etc. have changed in the time between your FIRST license test and many of them do you know? Do you know what a double-diamond interchange it legal to make a LEFT turn on red...what do those newer triangular marked lines close to crosswalks mean...etc, etc, ad infinitum?

ALL drivers should be re-tested every 2nd renewal of their license, just as almost every other licenses profession or skill is required to do.
