My piece on Letterman's last show (from Black Press/the Surrey Leader):

"Dave's been the best late night host since I was born. His sense of humour is just so genuine, a sense of humour that finds your heart while tripping over coffee tables in the dark, like how Hugh Grant's stuttering makes him more charming or Peter Falk's fumbling made Columbo the detective who solved."

It started with a Presidential roll and a Taco Bell throwback, hit its peak with a star-studded Top 10, and ended with a thank you or two.

The Canucks say they believe in their core, and they should. They say this season was a step in the right direction, and it was.

But they don't need a treadmill. They need a time machine.

'It's unfortunate, because we're gonna be having this conversation regardless, unless we won the Cup,' says Kevin Bieksa.

'There is no logical explanation other than faith.'

That's actually not a logical explanation. Which is the issue. With every religion, of course.

Swing Low, Sweet Canucks.

Vancouver's a playoff team... but are they, really? Inspiring wins have been looped with bipolar losses for pretty much the entire 2014/15 season, but the Canucks still sit 2nd in the Pacific Division, ahead of Calgary and Los Angeles.

Canucks have turned in tremendous wins over Chicago, New York and St. Louis this year, but they've also rolled over against Colorado and Co.

How can the Vancouver Canucks climb in the Western Conference?

To quote the Game of Thrones' Littlefinger Baelish: "Chaos isn't a pit. It's a ladder."

Even after their great start, a three-game losing streak has Vancouver slipping back behind Anaheim, Chicago, Nashville, St. Louis.

by Kolby Solinsky White Cover Magazine Are there spoilers ahead? Of course. So only read on if you've seen it, or if you're looking for that sort of thing. I know plenty of you out there like to watch TV without keeping the ending a surprise, just like plenty of you like to know what…

by Kolby Solinsky White Cover Magazine It must have flown by. Letterman spent 33 years – nearly half his life – as a titan of late night, first as a prince then as the king. But on Wednesday night, for his final CBS show skillfully planted in the middle of a week, where his fans…

Re-Thinking Depth: This was supposed to be a re-building – or-re-tooling – year for the Vancouver Canucks. It's neither.

And they don't have four lines. Rather, they have 14 forwards, 8 defencemen, and they've used three goalies.

by Kolby Solinsky White Cover Magazine We have stats for everything. We understand it all so much more than we once did, although a few are still clinging to the golden years, wishing they could just make stuff up like they used to without someone 30-and-under calling out their proof as little more than a…

This is what happens now. A trailer is released – sorry, dropped – and the Internet's quickest-to-midnight ejaculate all over YouTube and their own blogs within five minutes of MGM's first Tweet. And the weirdest part of all that above is, MGM. Yes, Metro Goldwyn-Mayer has one trick up its sleeve, and its sleeves are well cuffed and crisply linked – this is James Bond, after all.

James Bond enters his 53rd year in Hollywood, and he's dragging Metro Goldwyn Mater with him.

Trailer Review for 'Mad Max: Fury Road'

http://www.whitecovermag.com/2014/12/trailer-review-buckle-up-for-mad-max-fury-road.html
Come on, Hollywood. Can't you let me go one day without tossing out some epic trailer? And then I have to sit down here and write some blurb about it, or else I'll feel like I haven't fulfilled my "journalistic" responsibility to drop a few paragraphs whenever something breaks the Internet once every 12 hours. And…

Like Littlefinger said in Game of Thrones, chaos is a ladder.

And the Vancouver Canucks need to start their climb. Now.
