This is a great place for kids with many different sections targeting different things. There's are areas for playing with musical instruments, make-believe doctor's office and sandwich shop, fun with water, and many other things. If you can't find a way to kill a few hours here with kids, I'd be shocked.

It's a wonderful museum, great for my almost 1 year old, though she'd probably enjoy it a lot more in a few years. There are a lot of different areas to explore and they're worth the entry. The only complaint is that ticket prices are $12 ages 1-55 - I don't think a 1 year old should be paying full price, honestly.

Thanks for the great review, Jim! All of our exhibits have elements built in to them that are designed specifically for the toddler age range, which is why we have set our admission prices beginning at age 1. We will certainly take your comments into consideration as we review future pricing. We look forward to welcoming you and your daughter back!

This place was so fun, for me as an adult, but for kids it's absolutely fun. The staff here were very helpful too. Love this place.

Lots to do, fun for kids of all ages. A little overpriced if you ask me.

Very fun place for kids 1-7. They have a great mix of things to do from books to taking care of pets, playing with water, shopping at a grocery store, and many other things. One area consistenly gets updated. Currently (May '16) it is a sponsered area by a Sprout TV show focused on exploring the senses. Overall, this is a great place to play and have birthday parties. The only reason it is not 5 stars is that some of the areas are starting to look a tad bit run down. Not unexpected given the joy it has brought to so many kids over the years...

With one of the most accessible city's in the nation a half hour from this "museum" you're better off hauling to the science and industry, field museum, art institute, even the shedd. I bet calling Kohl's a museum, saves this dirty jungle gym a boatload in taxes. Maybe they could use some of the money to buy some soap. Someone should call the fire department it felt very crowded and not safe for my child.

It was $22 for myself and my 13 month old. There's not a lot to do in a crowded space with such a small child. If you do go, I'd recommend waiting until they're 3-4. It was very crowded and the toys were very dirty and worn out. I'm not afraid of germs-I just think it should be nicer for the money. The staff was very friendly, i just wouldn't consider this a museum honestly, I would've rather gone to a proper museum in the city.
