Very fun place for kids 1-7. They have a great mix of things to do from books to taking care of pets, playing with water, shopping at a grocery store, and many other things. One area consistenly gets updated. Currently (May '16) it is a sponsered area by a Sprout TV show focused on exploring the senses. Overall, this is a great place to play and have birthday parties. The only reason it is not 5 stars is that some of the areas are starting to look a tad bit run down. Not unexpected given the joy it has brought to so many kids over the years...

With one of the most accessible city's in the nation a half hour from this "museum" you're better off hauling to the science and industry, field museum, art institute, even the shedd. I bet calling Kohl's a museum, saves this dirty jungle gym a boatload in taxes. Maybe they could use some of the money to buy some soap. Someone should call the fire department it felt very crowded and not safe for my child.

It's nice for kids but busy in the weekends. Maybe I should quit work and go on a Tuesday at 10am. Will report back after my two weeks notice.

I live in the city, so for me it's natural to compare the Kohl Children's Museum to the one at Navy Peir. For my three-year-old, the Kohl Children's Museum wins by a long shot. It's bigger, less crowded, and has free parking. It's not right next to a McDonald's, which is a big plus. For my nine-year-old, however, the Kohl Children's Museum doesn't really have any appeal. Other than playing with his little brother, he might get a bit bored. Whereas the one at Navy Peir has more in depth science related exhibits that appeal to someone his age.

It was $22 for myself and my 13 month old. There's not a lot to do in a crowded space with such a small child. If you do go, I'd recommend waiting until they're 3-4. It was very crowded and the toys were very dirty and worn out. I'm not afraid of germs-I just think it should be nicer for the money. The staff was very friendly, i just wouldn't consider this a museum honestly, I would've rather gone to a proper museum in the city.

Or kids live this place. Variety of experiences for young children. Often crowded, however.
