Just noticed that +VeloMetro was mentioned by Metro News a month ago! :)
For many of us, technology for transportation has been synonymous with changes to cars — making them faster, safer, cleaner and maybe, eventually, making them self-driving. But for growing numbers of residents around the region, the technologies that matter are those that allow us to live either without cars or to live with them differently than we may have expected in the past.

Another story on +VeloMetro! Thanks, #VancityBuzz!
They're engineers, they're Vancouver entrepreneurs and they want to change the way we travel. They're Velometro, and they're designing and building state-of-the-art VeloCars™.

At +VeloMetro, we're designing our VeloCar to adhere to all existing laws so that new definitions won't be needed.
Legislation proposed by Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) would create new NHTSA & EPA categories for three-wheeled vehicles that are neither car nor motorcycle.

Great company we're being mentioned with here!
Okay, I admit it. This list should probably be called “Lessons from 3 of B.C.'s Hottest Cleantech Companies”, or even “3 Hot Cleantech Companies from the Vancouver Region”.

What are your thoughts on the woonerf (a shared street where no method of transportation has any priority over others, ie cars, walking, cycling... horses...)?
The woonerf, or "shared street," has made its way into U.S. cities.

Cool idea. 50km/hr e-bike "highways" between cities.
Intercity bicycle motorways dedicated to 30 mph e-bikes could soon get the green light in Holland. E-bikes with the speed of a moped are popular in Holland and the e-bike freeway would allow commuters to zip between cities
