A Day in the Life
My alarm is set to go off at 5:50, just so I can hit snooze several times. When my alarm goes off again at 6:10ish, I'm generally awake enough for the pain I'm in to really hit me. I do some stretches in my sleepy snooze state to try to loosen up. I'm final...

January So Far: 5k progress update, snowshoeing, activism, and Washington, DC
January has been crazy so far! We in the midwest started out the month with temps in some places even lower than -50 degrees Fahrenheit. Sometimes, it's enough to make me wonder why I even live in Wisconsin! But then, I remember I have some of the best docs...

I love that you gals talked about this topic! I've had JRA since age 5 and it bugs me that sex with disabilities isn't talked about like at all. <3

Introduction
I have Systemic Onset Juvenile Idiopathic (or Rheumatoid) Arthritis (aka Still's Disease). It totally sucks, but I try to make the best of every single day. I blog about it and that can make it a little more fun - or, at least, help others.

My disease doesn't define me, but I talk a lot about it. It has kicked me out of school, made me switch jobs, and now has me shooting up Enbrel (which supposedly can give you cancer and is made from Chinese hamsters!) once a week.

I am diving into becoming more of an activist and doing more to raise awareness of the issues I faced as a child, and the issues I continue to face today. I want to change the world for kids with arthritis and other diseases for the better, no matter how hard it is or how long it takes.

I believe that the journey is the most important part, not the destination. Even if my story ends up tragic, I want to live, laugh, and love every single minute of it.

I believe in things like virtue, hope, peace, diplomacy, honor, duty - and over anything else - I believe in love.

Humor, British accents, bluegrass and Hugh Laurie are just a few ways to get to my heart.

I had an awesome experience here. I have had a pedicure done before at a place in the mall and the service was cold. Here, it was the exact opposite! The sweet guy I had was super personable and really knew what he was doing. It was very comfortable and extremely reasonable for the price!

I love Dream Lanes. Every time I'm there, I get treated well. We love going on Packer game days, when they have their $1 margarita and soda promotion. Shoes and games are also a dollar during the games. Even now that I live over on the west side of Madison, I still will drive out there to bowl. Having Pizza Pit attached is nice too, though now that I'm gluten free I won't really have any food options within the center. I would love to see Pizza Pit develop a gluten free selection, but that is an issue many places. Overall, Dream Lanes is the best bowling alley I've been to - and not just because their margaritas are strong!

Nope, don't do it! The location is nice, but it's not worth it. We checked in, got into an already occupied room. Went back to get a different room and we got stuck with a different room type. I used to work in hotels, so I know how that goes. Not a problem. However, there was a problem with the stains on the blankets & sheets as well as the several dead roaches on the floor! The girl at the desk didn't really acknowledge the problem and wasn't sure if we wanted a refund. Obviously, we left and headed for a different hotel as quickly as possible. The price is enticing but just say no!

Just yesterday, my sister and I were there when she had a seizure. She had no history of having them, so it wasn't expected. Everyone there was very helpful, especially a gentleman working there whose wife is epileptic. There is no other store that deserves such a good rating.
