My sister and I received a quote from the Kirkley for a 5 night stay during Memorial Day weekend at a reduced nightly rate, and with our first and last nights free of charge. Ecstatic, we booked right away. Big mistake! After returning our key, the woman behind the counter gave us a total that was nearly $200 more than the total they quoted 3 weeks prior. My sister pointed this out to the woman who then calmly brought the matter to her manager's attention. The manager approached us, immediately combative, with a printed copy of our quote in hand that stated we were given 2 nights free. Despite having printed this from their own system directly and being shown the emailed copy from my phone, the manager informed us that because we stayed 5 nights, we were expected to pay the full rate for a 5 night stay. I asked why we were given a misleading quote for 2 free nights, and she argumentatively said that we weren't. I pointed out all the areas of her print-out that clearly indicated otherwise, including the total, and she told me this was "obviously" a system error. I then asked her why the Kirkley's error would be our responsibility as customers. Her verbatim response was a stern and rude: "Sir, you stayed 5 nights." This dialogue repeated itself in varying forms until someone (I don't know who) brought out the Kirkley's owner for resolution. The owner asked what was going on, I referred to both copies of the quote, and when my sister tried to speak, he interrupted her and said her point was "irrelevant." He then turned to his employees and asked if they knew the reason for the error, and a new woman standing behind the counter explained that she knew about the system error ALL ALONG. Having now been told by a member of their own staff for the second time that the Kirkley was responsible for the error, I turned to the owner and angrily said "We shouldn't have to pay for the Kirkley's mistake." The owner immediately pointed his finger at me and said that I was being disrespectful - my tone, my body language - apparently everything about me was disrespectful. But after a moment of silent introspection, I told him he was correct and I apologized. After my apology, the owner pointed at the woman behind the counter and told her to charge us based on the original quote and demanded that she be careful with future quotes before turning back to me with a raised voice and telling me that I needed to learn a lesson about humility. I regrettably responded by saying, "Hence my apology." With his raised voice, he shouted "I'm a humble man!" and told me I needed to be humble too because they're victims of their own system's error - this among many other loud reasons to justify his inexcusable behavior as he walked down the hall, repeatedly declaring to me that he was "a humble man." I still have no idea what humility had to do with the situation whatsoever, or who he was trying so desperately to convince that he was a humble man -- us, or himself? The only lesson I learned was that openly boasting about one's own humility while criticizing that of another is in no way humble at all. Let alone with an audience present. The humble thing to do would have been for the Kirkley's owner to likewise apologize for his own behavior that had become far more escalated and disrespectful than that of my sister or myself at ANY point during the fiasco. Instead, he resorted to hostility and continued to scold us. Ultimately, I'm thankful that the owner chose to honor the original quote, but I'm appalled by the way the owner and his staff treated us by attempting to shift blame and responsibility for their own system's failure onto their customers whose patronage their business relies on, and by perpetuating the argument when the owner turned it into a personal matter by questioning my overall character and shouting at me from the hallway. Marble floors and good food are not enough to justify blatant unprofessionalism, abysmal customer service, and public degradation.

Excellent food, the wait was a bit much but their lounge made up for it. The only other cork was their hostess station which is over in a corner, hidden from view.

We only visited the hotel for brunch, but our experience was great. The service was prompt, and the decor was clean. The food was high quality, and there was a large variety. I would definitely go again, but it can be a little pricey. All in all, it was great value.

Although my price was discounted it waa still not that pricey. Room as clean and well appointed. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Overall very nice place

Nothing about our stay was fantastic. Trouble checking in (we got sent to an occupied room). The bathroom is extremely small, though it's kind of to be expected with an older hotel. It's been remodeled recently and it's perfectly serviceable but not 'nice'. Our stay was just sort of 'eh'. The nicest part of the whole thing is the lobby.
