In September, we visited the Oregon coast famous for its beaches and sea stacks. At Cannon Beach we had both. This photo was taken looking south toward the town of Cannon Beach with Haystack Rock in the distance and fog just starting to roll in.

I have a totally updated and revised website at www.flanaganfotos.com.
I've posted two new blog posts regarding my trips to the Palouse country of SE Washington and the Wallowa Valley (The Alps of Oregon) from this spring.  I will be adding many new photos to my gallery over this next week including photos from the above locations as well as my trip to the Galapagos in June. Check back often as I have a busy fall travel schedule planned.

Another spring trip was to the Wallowa Valley in far N.E. Oregon, a beautiful mountain valley also known as the Alps of Oregon.  Nestled at the base of the Wallowa Mountains is Wallowa Lake and the town of Joseph with art galleries, restaurants and a bronze foundry.

Even in winter there are waterfalls to be found in Yosemite.  This is one of the falls on Tamarack Creek just before it crosses under Big Oak Flat Road.  Photo was taken on 12/28/2009.

It's not too late to sign up for my "Yosemite in Winter" photo tour.  Check it out at www.flanaganfotos.com.

Yosemite isn't always about the grand landscape. There are significant numbers of black tail deer that look like miniature mule deer.  They are usually seen around sunrise and sunset feeding in the meadows and woods.  However, this guy was out in mid-morning and in the open space around the chapel. He was busy eating and not bothered at all by the nearby photographers.

Tomorrow is the last day for early bird registration for my "Yosemite in Winter" photo tour.  Come share the fun. Details at www.flanaganfotos.com

Valley View is another of the classic locations in Yosemite Valley.  The Merced River provides a beautiful leading line to El Capitan and the rocks covered with weeds and snow provide an interesting foreground to improve perspective and add depth to the image.  Combine these with the soft, winter late day light and a clearing storm and you have the opportunity for something magical.

Come share the Yosemite magic during my Yosemite in Winter tour February 16-20, 2015.  Early bird price ends January 16, 2015.  See www.flanaganfotos.com for details.

Open winters in Yosemite and low, soft southern light provide for beautiful light on the Merced and the icons producing beautiful reflections and unusual perspectives.

Come see the beauty of the season February 16-20, 2015 during my Yosemite in Winter tour.  More information at www.flanaganfotos.com
