Hi, how are ya?
My career as a writer, performer, and producer began 20 years ago when I received a BFA from the University of Southern California. I later received a Certificate in Multimedia Production from New York University, and am a graduate of the renowned International Film & Television Workshops of Rockport, Maine.
I have studied and performed comedy improv with Second City and Upright Citizens Brigade, and was a founding member of Amsterdam’s famed Downstage West sketch comedy troupe.
Over the last two decades, I have performed numerous family and educational programs with Boston’s City Stage Company, and was thrilled to be the very first actor to portray Buster Bunny in the very first live show based on Marc Brown’s “Arthur” books at the Boston Children’s Museum.
I have performed at grade schools and libraries throughout the Northeast and New York/New Jersey region as Johnny Junkfood in the nutrition-education juggling show, “Food Play”, and was a co-founder of the original Hoboken puppet show, “The Story Hour”.
I was a founding member of the Hoboken-based kindie rock band The Fuzzy Lemons, writing and recording many of the band’s original hits, and also composed and performed the songs “Kangaroo” and “Little Firefly” as part of an international fundraising effort to aid earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan in 2011. Those two songs remained in the Sprockster.com “Top 20″ for over six months.
In addition to my family-focused work, I am also an award winning independent filmmaker, writing, producing, and directing several feature length independent films that have received critical praise and numerous awards on the American film festival circuit.
Inspired largely by Jim Henson’s work, I have continued to develop my own style of performance that combines live music, interactive puppetry, magic tricks, and of course lots of irreverent humor.
My number one goal is to create magical moments that children and grown ups can enjoy together, just as I used to watch The Muppet Show with my whole family, laughing and singing along.
In general, I perform 10-15 shows and classes per week for children ranging in ages from preschool through 5th grade. I absolutely love what I do and feel so lucky to be able to create and perform birthday party shows, educational programs, and weekly music and puppet shows.
