“(Y)our friend in Belize!”
Reviewed September 28, 2015 NEW

Our trip to Belize was amazing, and I know that had a lot to do with meeting David. We decided to spend a few days in the country, and a few days on one of the islands. Overall, I would absolutely book with David again and have recommended him several times already to other travelers. It was like having a friend in Belize who wanted to show you all their favorite places, the best places to eat and the best of everything Belize had to offer.

David will customize every detail of your trip, answer (y)our endless questions and get you there while pointing out everything you shouldn’t miss. I loved that he stayed with us every step of the way. His commitment to customer service and pride in his country really made him stand out from any other travel service we thought of booking.

We were picked up at the airport by David, travelled to San Ignacio for lunch, then to Tikal in Guatemala for the night. We spent the evening hiking around the jungle, then rose before sunrise to climb to the top of Temple IV to watch the sun come up. The guides in Tikal that David booked for us were awesome, and incredibly knowledgeable. After hiking around for four or five hours that morning, we stopped for lunch before heading back to the border. Once across we stopped at Xunantunich for a museum visit and a short hike. The views from the top were absolutely beautiful. From Xunantunich we headed to Orange Walk Town.

We spent two days in Orange Walk Town celebrating Belize’s Independence Day, watching the abundance of fireworks, listening to the drummers in the morning, seeing all the painted runners and then watching the parade in the afternoon. If you have never been to this celebration, I would highly recommend checking it out in Orange Walk. The next day we continued on to Lamanai – which is a treat for the boat ride alone, not to mention the incredible views from the High Temple. Once we were done, David drove us back to Belize City where we boarded the water taxi.

From start to finish, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. It’s quite a chance to take to spend four days with somebody you don’t know but we honestly enjoyed every minute of it. He showed us a great time in Belize and we definitely felt like family by the end of our trip. We had a very hassle free, adventurous tour and by the end we were sad to say goodbye to our new friend!

One more note, I would say if you haven’t ventured across the countryside, or only spend time on the island(s) then you are missing much of what Belize has to offer. It is a very beautiful country, with lots of wonderful people who are very proud of their country and their rich heritage. We traveled during the “slow season” which has a lot of perks for travelers, including smaller crowds and a laid back pace.
