What's better than sailing the San Juan Islands?  Sailing them in the summertime with beer, of course.   #beertravel
Sailing the San Juans with beer, of course. The San Juan Islands are an archipelago of islands in the northwest corner of Washington State. Reachable by Washington State Ferry (from Anacortes, WA),...

And the count shall be 237. (We think.)   #wabeer   #craftbeer
At times, I am tempted to throw my hands in the air and say, “I give up! You win.” Keeping up with all the continuing growth of the Washington brewing industry remains a constant challenge. I curate maps and lists of such things, which is not a task anyone should envy. Granted, there are worse …

Nothing to worry about. No plans to make. No reservations to keep. Just relax and …

Last week's Chicago beer tour yielded three unexpected discoveries. #chicago #craftbeer
Back when Goose Island was the only local brewery in town, Chicago already had some better beer bars, like the classic 20-year-old Hopleaf. Today there are over 50 breweries (most of them without t...

Yesterday post-hike, we checked out a new brewery in the tiny town of Roslyn, WA. Tasty Belgian-style ales.  #craftbeer   #easternwa

Great new brewery now open in Roslyn. Meet Wild Earth Brewing.
Roslyn is the tiny town just east of Snoqualmie Pass possibly best known as the setting for that quirky show Northern Exposure. Now that tiny Eastern Washington town offers a new reason to take a quick detour from maddening I-90 traffic: a brand new brewery called Wild Earth Brewing. We stopped yesterday after day-hiking Ingalls …

With 330 beers to choose from you might need some help. Here's +Washington Beer Blog 's top picks:   #beerfestival   #wabeer
This weekend in Redmond, it’s time once again for the big daddy brewfest: The Washington Brewers Festival. Below are my top picks. These are some of the beers that I’m interested to try for the first time or am happy to revisit. Note that some of the beers piquing my interest are “Friday Only” beers. …

Quiet, boutique hotel where the front counter remembers you by name as you come and go. Great location, walking distance to Robson shopping and Gastown nightlife, plus located above the skytrain station. Our room was uber quiet and comfortable, especially with the extra craft beer package - 22 oz bottles of local beer on ice when we arrived at our room. Breakfast is included, and it's a far cry from the typical hotel buffet; it's cooked to order and plentiful, with options like a custom omelette, traditional eggs and bacon, or yogurt and fruit.
