"In very recent news a Yelp sponsored study, presented by two Academicians strongly suggests that Google's results are "monopoly results and harm consumers."

About time

She was surprised at the enormous undertaking she had started.  Who ever thought owning a website for a small business would be so time consuming and confusing?  Not to mention expensive.

They are nickel and diming me, she feared.  She didn’t like their mockup, but had trouble conveying to the designers why, because for starters, they were expected to be the experts.  She felt awkward asking her questions.  Was she qualified to ask them?  Maybe they really did know what they were doing and she was being a pain.

Web design is (finally!) dying of irrelevance. Web pages themselves are no longer the center of the Internet experience, which is why designers need to move on to the next challenges—products and ecosystems—if they want to stay relevant. Web design has no future—a risky statement I know, ...

When Google announced its new requirement for websites to pass its mobile design requirements, I immediately knew marketers would jump into the ocean of hoopla and mayhem to try and convince their clients that their websites needed to be redesigned or tweaked to rank at Google.

"In all of the above there is not a single bottom line aka revenue reason for an app developer to share anything with Google. Is a minor mention and minuscule traffic referral worth giving away the baby with the bathwater?

The app (mostly thought of as a mobile offering but equally valid with all devices including desktop) is a way for sites aka businesses to get out from under the Google company store reliance. That Google is attempting to claw them back is not surprising, that such attempt(s) are being promoted as 'good' (if never actually shown to be) by media is disappointing if not unexpected, the kool-aid is free and the sermon unending."

"Tracing that to dwell time, an inexperienced person may bounce because they don't have enough expertise to understand the content, but that should not signal a search engine that the content is incorrect or not quality. "

"How many times have you seen SEOs in forums where pagerank, pageauthority, linkdiversity and other patented mojomeasures cry because their cudgels were ineffective against a pissant? Happens all of the time at places like SEOchat, Moz and other lands of cudgel."

"Almost completely useless."

The blue screen went up off in the distance on the opposite far end of the racetrack and I knew, despite my inexperience, that the filly who suddenly disappeared from the race was going to be euthanized.  She was only three years old.  Her sire was Smarty Jones.  She was a champion who died doing what she loved and what her breed is born to do, which is to run. Fast.

Not a day has passed that I haven’t thought about her.
They say that racehorses can die during horse races, but until I witnessed it myself during my first ever visit to a racetrack these were just words on a page.

The point is this. For mobile website to work as you hope, think about the tasks you want your mobile visitors to perform and not just what Google requires for its search engine.

"I asked these questions because I continue to find incorrect information spread by SEO's and SEO companies who know NOTHING about what UX is and yet they use the term. I asked this question on Twitter to my followers and got one response. I asked on Facebook and not a single SEO bothered to respond. So I'm wondering about the credibility of the SEO industry."
